Chapter 22: The Desire to Return to Her Original Body

What Tống Thanh Phong said made sense—humans have no limits.

A fierce hope ignited in Hoàng Hải Vân's heart. She immediately asked:

"So, all I need to do is find someone who possesses the second method, right?"

Tống Thanh Phong pulled the white sheet over the face of the body, sneaking a glance at Trần Anh Hùng before signaling her to step outside.

"Forget it. This is impossible."

Hoàng Hải Vân quickly followed him, determined to persuade him.

However, before she could say anything, a sudden dizziness overwhelmed her. The world spun, her legs buckled, and she nearly collapsed—until a strong hand caught her.

It was Trần Anh Hùng's.

"You're hungry, aren't you?"

Without waiting for a response, he effortlessly lifted her into his arms.

At the dining table, he gently placed her onto a chair. The table was already set, and only the three of them sat down to eat. It was only now that she realized just how hungry she was—so hungry that her body felt completely drained.

Her hands trembled as she picked up the chopsticks, struggling to even hold them properly.

Seeing this, Tống Thanh Phong called out:

"Nhiễu Hân, bring a spoon."

A woman entered the room and placed a spoon on the table before silently leaving.

Hoàng Hải Vân's eyes followed her retreating figure.

Why did she look so familiar?

Suddenly, it clicked.

"Nhiễu Hân… The famous singer who dominated the industry three years ago. She… she committed suicide. Why is she here?"

Tống Thanh Phong casually picked up his chopsticks and began eating.

"She's dead. That's just a robot."

Hoàng Hải Vân swallowed hard, a strange unease creeping over her.

"Then… those people who chased me this morning. Were they also robots?"

Tống Thanh Phong nodded, continuing his meal without further elaboration.

Hoàng Hải Vân's gaze shifted cautiously between the two men sitting at the table.

"And what about you two?"

Trần Anh Hùng, who had been silently observing her, finally spoke in his calm, measured tone.

"There are only three humans on this island. The rest are all robots. Now eat."

Hoàng Hải Vân hesitated but picked up the spoon. However, her hands wouldn't obey her. Halfway through lifting it, her fingers lost strength, and the spoon dropped.

Without a word, Trần Anh Hùng moved his chair closer, took the spoon, and began feeding her himself.

It was only then that she noticed—his hands were beautiful.

However, after just a few spoonfuls, Tống Thanh Phong put down his chopsticks, scooted his chair over, and snatched the spoon from Trần Anh Hùng's hand.

"You eat. I'll take care of this."

Without waiting for a response, he began feeding her instead.

Trần Anh Hùng let out a small chuckle, shook his head, and returned to his meal.

But even after finishing her meal, her body still felt unbearably weak.

It wasn't just hunger.

It felt as if—no matter who wanted to violate her, she wouldn't have the strength to resist.

It was as though… she was preparing to die all over again.

At that moment, she realized—her body wasn't weak from hunger.

Her soul was weakening.

Perhaps seeing her original body again… and feeling the overwhelming desire to return to it… had shaken her very existence.

Her soul was unstable.

And because of that, this body was beginning to collapse.
