Chapter 71 - CHAPTER SEVENTY

Mikaela, Mikaela. Someone was calling Mikaela's name, so she immediately opened her eyes and rubbed them.

She suddenly sat up when she noticed her surroundings. She was not in the mansion; she was in an old house, scanning her surroundings. She swallowed her saliva.

Mikaela. At the call of a sweet voice, she immediately turned to look.

"Jasmin." Mention its name.

Don't be afraid; come with me. She extended a hand to her.

Mikaela hesitated to hold it, knowing that Mikaela would once again be drawn back to the past.

Jasmin was just waiting for her to extend her hand.

Even though her hand was trembling, she reached out, feeling its cold palm.

Unexpectedly, they found themselves in the warehouse. She saw her brother Giovane, Charles, and what caught her attention were the women with blindfolds, tied hands, and mouths gagged with handkerchiefs.

"W—what's happening?" she suddenly asked Jasmin.

It's sad, so sad; just when they had achieved freedom, they were brought back here. Jasmin said, saddened by what they witnessed.

If so, did Giovane find out about William's basement? Mikaela wondered in her mind.

She saw two young women; they were just looking at the captured women; they were standing with crossed arms, indifferent to what they were seeing.

Giovane violently pulled one of the women captive, and Giovane pointed a knife at her face.

"Will you talk, or will I kill you? Who is hiding under the alias "Delta?" he asked the woman.

The fear was clearly visible in her eyes, but she remained silent, not a sound escaping her lips.

"Are you being stubborn? If you all stay quiet, you'll get what you want. Let's see how long you can last." Mikaela listened as he delivered his words with firmness.

"Take those inside; we'll see how far they can go." He ordered his minions.

"Charles, we are nearing the truth. We are very, very close to discovering who the people opposing the organization are." He even smirked; Charles didn't say a word.

He then turned to the two young women who were just quietly observing.

There was a man hiding behind the wall, with his arms crossed.

"Good job, Nathaniel." Giovane, who is her brother, said this while patting Nathaniel on the shoulder.

"I'll pick up the two," said the man named Nathaniel.

"Yes, yes, I'm so envious of you, Alexander. You have a sibling who understands you." Giovane shook his head.

"Unlike me, who has four sisters, they never understand me at all; not a single one of them questions me as their older brother."

You haven't been a good brother to us, brother. Mikaela thought to herself that Giovane was receiving negative attention.

You couldn't even defend us from our father back then; how can we be exemplary siblings to you? Do you even regard us as siblings?

Mikaela smiled bitterly at her brother. Suddenly, someone held her palm, so she turned to her companion, who was staring at her.

Somehow, her entire anger calmed down because of what she was hearing now from Giovane.

"Keep up the excellent work, Isabel. As I said to you, get to know my half-sister, Chesca, and her friends." Giovane smiled even more.

Her ears perked up, and she couldn't help but raise an eyebrow.

"I know one of Chesca's friends, especially Thalia Blanco."

"What's her last name? Am I hearing it right, Blanco, you say?"

Isabel, acknowledging the mention of her name, nodded. Mikaela heard her brother laughing; he was laughing heartily at what the woman was saying.

Giovane cleared his throat before speaking, calming himself and smirking at the person he was talking to.

"Blanco, that family name, the lineage of the Blancos, is still alive." Mikaela saw its strange smile.

"Guess I will purge their family again."

The hairs on her body stood up in response to the sound.

Darkness swallowed them, and she fell back onto her bed. Mikaela was still with Jasmin.

What is that? Is that a current event? Why? Why am I traveling in the present? She questioned in her mind, confused by the situation she found herself in now.

She looked at Jasmin, who was also looking at her.

Mikaela, Thalia will be in danger, as well as Jenny. Jasmin only told her back then that her eyes were sad.

I'm so tired of seeing people getting hurt. Jasmin shook her head.

"Please forgive us. I am a Fuego. I also caused your death, but your passing is the only way to bring peace to my siblings, my mother, and the others affected by the Fuego." Mikaela said sadly.

"So I will find a way to ensure that no one from the Blanco family gets harmed; I don't want to hear about another family being killed all at once; I don't want what happened to Fernan and Fernan's siblings, who had nothing to do with the conflict, to happen again." Her hands trembled when she remembered that.

It was reported as a burglary, and the intruders were killed.

Mikaela I hope you don't let your anger take over; I don't want you to get hurt. After saying that, it suddenly disappeared from her sight.

She could no longer sleep; tomorrow, she would return to the town where she was born. She clenched her hand.

Mikaela needs to strengthen her resolve; she must not be a coward in fighting against her father's greed.

Her mind is deeply pondering the identity of the woman she saw with her brother.

She will closely monitor the actions of Thalia and Chesca. Good thing she didn't get to know William's true self. I am worried about the young women they captured.

There are some images that are disturbing her mind, images where the girl she saw earlier is being severely tortured; she hears her cries of pain and suffering, and she sees what is happening in the warehouse.

She broke out into a sweat, her entire body turning cold. Every time the images from the warehouse formed in her mind, she saw someone being drowned if they didn't speak, being hurt repeatedly.

Enough, enough, enough! Screaming in her mind, she grabbed her hair, then cried because she felt the pain inflicted on the victim's body.

She was catching her breath; her whole body was going cold, but she fought against it.

Be strong, Mikaela. Only what was said in her mind before, she calms what she feels now; her thoughts need to be clear.

In Mikaela's body, it seems that the pain she has been enduring with her father is returning to her system.
