Chapter 13: Successfully Finding the NPC
Woo—
The air raid siren blared.
This was the church's signal for its followers to return immediately.
It signified that the Otherworld was about to descend, and once that happened, dangers would lurk outside the church.
On his way to the hospital, Allen was surrounded by a horde of monsters—zombie-like children with embers spewing from their eyes, ears, mouths, and noses, letting out shrill, ear-piercing wails.
[Killed Ash Monster, EXP +200]
After a relentless slaughter, hundreds of Ash Monsters were wiped out.
"I still prefer bugs—plentiful and satisfying."
Standing at the hospital entrance, Allen's gaze was drawn to a metal plaque embedded in the wall beside the main doors.
'Special thanks to Weyland Corporation for their medical equipment sponsorship.'
"Weyland? The company from Alien?"
Pushing up the nonexistent glasses on his nose, Allen murmured thoughtfully, "I saw a sign for Raccoon City on the way here—definitely tied to Umbrella Corporation."
Umbrella Corporation, Weyland Corporation, Oscorp Industries...
"This world isn't just DC and Marvel—it must be the American Comic Universe."
Resting his chin on his hand, Allen pondered, "When the timeline ends and I return, will it be on the same time axis?"
"No matter. I'm in Gotham City. I'll just ask Bats."
In the distance, a group of church followers, fully clad in sealed firefighter suits, watched in silence as their target stepped into the hospital.
Their scent-proof suits significantly reduced the risk of being detected and tracked by monsters. As long as they didn't trespass into marked forbidden zones, they could move freely in the Otherworld.
And the most terrifying forbidden zone in Silent Hill?
Alchemilla Hospital.
Because Alessa's true body was hidden in its basement.
"Let's go, man. That guy's dead for sure."
"I've never seen anyone escape from Pyramid Head."
The cultists had infiltrated the hospital multiple times and had a rough understanding of its monsters' traits.
The only truly terrifying existence was Pyramid Head—a predator that could roam without restrictions, hunting down any living intruders.
——
Inside the dim, grimy hospital corridors, bloodstains and filth covered the walls, creating an atmosphere of horror and gore.
Allen walked straight toward the elevator, heading directly for Alessa's basement.
His footsteps halted.
At the stairwell ahead, a long, slender leg extended provocatively.
For a moment, Allen's grin was so wide his gums were showing.
"Long legs, don't run!"
Alessa?
Pffft, how could she compare to this excitement?
Shouting, Allen bolted into the stairwell and lunged, pinning the fleeing creature beneath him.
"Don't be shy. Turn your head. Keh keh keh…"
After flipping the creature over several times, he realized—
It had four legs.
One sword slash.
[Killed Leg Model, EXP +250]
With righteous indignation, Allen declared, "I could tell at a glance you weren't human."
Since he was already on the stairs, he ditched the elevator and used his grappling claw, swinging downward through the stairwell.
Before long, he reached the basement. The flickering lights from a swaying chandelier illuminated the passage, revealing twisted, grotesque nurses, blocking the way forward.
Allen took a step forward.
His footsteps triggered a reaction—the nurses' bodies twitched and twisted.
As if sound itself was a switch that activated their movement patterns.
"Puffy-Faced Nurses!"
Allen had always wanted to see these creatures.
Every one of them had Victoria's Secret model-tier bodies. Who cared about their faces?
"Move with my rhythm."
Allen strutted forward, swaying his hips.
One of his primary goals here was to dance off against the Puffy-Faced Nurses.
What?!
You guys want to see something lewd?
Allen scoffed—he was handsome, elegant, and a virtuous young man of the Western aesthetic trifecta.
He had never watched adult films.
Only because he couldn't afford a premium subscription.
The nurses, wielding scalpels and syringes, advanced step by step.
Allen kept swaying: "Move with my rhythm, babies."
——
At the basement entrance, a small, disheveled-haired girl appeared.
She stared at Allen in sheer disbelief.
Is this guy insane?!
Dancing in a horror setting? Have some respect for the atmosphere!
"I said—follow my rhythm!"
[Killed Puffy-Faced Nurse, EXP +350]
[Killed Puffy-Faced Nurse, EXP +350]
…
The nurses were wiped out.
Allen stood tall and declared, "Refuse my rhythm, and this is your fate."
"There's still one left."
Allen turned to Alessa, who stood at the door, and moved to harvest some more EXP.
"Stay back! Who the hell are you?!"
Alessa shrieked, utterly panicked.
There was no reasoning with a lunatic.
If this madman killed her avatar, it would take a considerable amount of power to reform it—weakening her control over Silent Hill.
"I'm Allen. You can talk, right?"
"...Alessa."
SMACK!
The next second, Allen slapped her across the face.
Alessa's mind went blank, eyes wide with confusion.
"Why did you hit me?! I didn't do anything!"
"Are you Alessa?"
"...Yes."
"Do you control Silent Hill?"
"...Yes."
"Then I didn't hit the wrong person."
Allen righteously declared, "As an NPC, you should be the one issuing me quests first. Why do I have to come all the way to you? I'm giving you a bad review."
"..."
What is he even talking about?!
Alessa's innocent, baffled gaze turned wary—this guy was far more unhinged than the cultists.
Even with Samael's power protecting her, she was genuinely concerned about what other insane things he might do.
Like…
Breathing hah…
——
In the basement, beside a plastic-sheeted hospital bed, a nurse in a red sweater sobbed bitterly.
The young nurse Lisa had taken one peek too many—and paid for it.
Ah-da!
Ahhh…
Lisa was reminiscing about her tragic fate when—WHAM!
A sharp pain shot through her waist as she was suddenly kicked across the room.
Allen had just drop-kicked her upon entering.
"Why did you kick her?!" Alessa gasped in shock.
This lunatic acted with zero logic.
Lisa clutched her waist in pain. Her hollow, bleeding eyes gazed at him in pure grievance, silently demanding an explanation.
"She didn't look at me properly."
Allen averted his gaze toward the ceiling, refusing to admit that he had mistaken her for a Red-Clad Ghost and acted preemptively.
Lisa looked even more aggrieved.
Not looking at you?
Buddy, I don't even have eyes!
——
"What do you want?!"
Alessa's gaze sharpened as Allen approached the hospital bed.
She was already preparing to summon Pyramid Head.
Allen looked at her seriously.
"You're beautiful."
"...Beautiful?"
Alessa's lips twitched.
She had anticipated every possible scenario—except for a compliment.
"Yeah… Wrapped up like a mummy—a beautiful disregard for human life."
Pfft!
Lisa, still sulking, burst into laughter.
A moment later, she laughed so hard she cried—until Alessa's murderous gaze landed on her.
I'm dead. RIP.
——
"State your business. My patience is wearing thin."
Alessa no longer believed his quest nonsense.
If she didn't get a proper answer, she'd summon a monster to deal with him.
