The sun was already rising over the horizon when Ismael shut the door of his mansion.
He was dressed in black, with dark sunglasses that hid his intentions—though the gleam in his eyes gave him away.
"Let's go, guys. Everything's ready for our meeting with the governor. I'm dying to try out one of his toys," he said with a crooked smile.
He climbed into his SUV and started the engine. A second vehicle with tinted windows followed close behind.
After a fifteen-minute drive through the dusty avenues on the outskirts of the city, they arrived at a discreet yet heavily guarded government building.
Four guards got out with Ismael, escorting him to the governor's luxurious office.
The man was waiting in a black leather chair behind a desk that was unnecessarily large.
"Governor, how are you?" he greeted.
"I'm fine, as always. What's so urgent that you had to show me? Sit down."
Ismael sat across from him and casually tossed him his phone.
"Watch this video."
The governor caught it mid-air. He played the video without changing his expression—until something on screen made him narrow his eyes.
"Well, well... What a strange man. That wasn't a normal explosion. Looks like something invisible blasted that gate open."
"Exactly. That's why I'm here," Ismael replied, flashing a sinister grin.
"I need you to lend me one of your special weapons. I want to kill him."
The governor looked at him over the phone.
"Do you have a personal issue with this guy?"
Ismael turned serious.
"Yeah. He killed a relative of mine and two of my men."
"And your weapons weren't enough?"
"I stabbed him several times. He survived. And you saw the video. He's not normal.
But with your tech, Governor, I can finish this quickly."
The governor let out a short, dark laugh.
"I'll lend you the monster-hunter drone. It's deadly enough to wipe out combat squads.
Sometimes I use it for fun—taking out idiots protesting for human rights," he said, laughing cruelly.
"Thank you, Governor. Where is it?"
The governor stood up.
"I'm not lending it to you. We're using it now. I want to see it in action."
He turned to his assistant.
"Bring me the drone controller."
The nervous assistant disappeared through a side door and returned seconds later with a black case.
"Here it is, sir."
The governor took it, opened the case, and revealed a compact device with a touchscreen.
"All you have to do is enter the name or photo of the target. The drone will find them. You just decide—missiles or bullets."
He handed the controller to Ismael.
"Thanks. This is going to be fun," he said, powering it on.
He typed in the name: Kael, and uploaded his photo.
Then pressed Search.
From a secret airstrip hidden among abandoned hangars, the monster-hunter drone took off with a silent roar.

Kael stretched on the couch and rubbed his face. The exhaustion was still there, like an invisible weight.
"Aaah, I slept well. I wish this were just a bad dream and no one was after me," he muttered, eyes fixed on the floor.
Sara walked over, smiling.
"Good morning, Kael," she said sweetly, kissing his cheek.
"Good morning, Sara," he replied, smiling back.
"Come to the dining room. My mom left early for work. I made you something."
Kael stood up and walked to the table.
Waiting for him was a bowl of chicken soup, an arepa with egg, and a glass of orange juice. His face lit up.
"Wow, this looks delicious. Thanks, Sara. But... what about your breakfast?"
"Kael, it's ten in the morning. I already ate," she laughed.
"You go ahead and eat. I'm going out to run some errands. I'll be back soon."
When Sara closed the door, Kael lowered his gaze. A shadow crossed his expression.
"Sara, you're so good to me. I don't want anything to happen to you because of me."
He placed a hand on his head. His eyes started to water.
"I don't understand why this happened to me. I never should've accepted that damn book. I should be dead… but I'm scared," he whispered, releasing a trembling sigh.
His tears fell silently as he picked up the spoon.
"Sara, you're all I have. Everything you do for me..." he murmured, eating with a shattered soul.
Suddenly, the door opened.
Sara had returned. When she saw him, her expression turned sad.
"Kael..."
She walked over, hugged him without a word, and whispered in his ear:
"Everything will be okay. Everything will change soon. I'm here for you, through thick and thin.
But please, don't keep chasing revenge."
Kael broke down in tears, holding her tightly to his chest.
"Thank you, Sara. Thank you. Sometimes I feel like my life has no meaning, but you give me strength. I won't pursue revenge anymore. I promise."
Sara let go and sat beside him.
"Don't cry. I believe in you. Things will get better. Our life will change. We'll be happy."
Kael smiled, eyes still glistening.
"Thank you for everything, Sara. Truly."

Far off, flying over the town, the hunter drone spotted its target.
It stopped a few meters from the house, locking on with deadly precision.
From the remote controller, Ismael watched the screen.
"Look, Governor. That's the bastard's house."
Without hesitation, he pressed the attack button.
A missile was launched.
It struck Kael's house in a devastating explosion.
Everything was blown to pieces.
