Chapter 12 - A Clash of Geomancy

"You have guts, kid. If the other three Lords hear about this, they'd laugh their heads off." A loud voice spoke. Zephyr looked back and saw the blond haired girl whom he had ignored at the entrance.

"That's quite the compliments coming from you, Mrs. Rose." Zephyr said, his eyes meeting the crystal of the wand.

"Oh?" The girl rose her eyebrow. "You know me?"

"Why, of course!" Zephyr said as he gave a slight bow. "How could I not recognise one of the greatest mages in the entire kingdom. I would not forgive myself if I did not know what the 'Fuchsia Vamipre' looked like!"

"Hmph!" Rose pouted with confidence. "You are quite educated, young one! Oh, Lord Starlight would love you!"

"Oh, I'm sure he would," Nemona said coldly.

Zephyr looked back at her, his sharp gaze fixing on the headmistress' very own.

"So what may I help you with, headmistress?" Zephyr asked.

"You can start by leaving." Nemona said, her voice cold, dominant, and stern. She looked at the side where her assistant, the one who had come to Zephyr's classroom to call him, stood.

"I-I will prepare the documents right away." She stuttered and hurried over towards the door.

"There will be no need for that." Zephyr's voice struck through the girl's body like a sword. He looked back at the headmistress and crossed his arms.

"Under the second pledge of the Five Orders of Veridion, no member of a Order will associate themselves with the business of other nobles unless the king or queen, or the judge of a royal court requests to do so."

He looked back at Nemona, who was eyeing Zephyr as if a tiger was ready to pounce on its prey the moment he showed a sign of weakness.

Rose walked past Zephyr and sat on an edge of the headmistress' table. "That's a pretty heavy accusation. What will you do, Nemona?" She whispered into Nemona's ear, mocking the headmistress.

"I have come here not for personal gain, and rather under the orders of the King himself, and thus you can not interfere with the business of the King, who also classifies as a noble." He turned around. "I hope that settles it. If so, I will excuse myself. Thank you."

Zephyr took a step towards the door when a sudden pressure filled the room, freezing Zephyr.

"I do not care if you came here yourself or under the orders of the king, but within these premises, no noble is greater than me. And so I will say this again, leave my school!" The headmistress released another wave of her Mana, suffocating her assistant.

"So you want to play like that, huh?" Zephyr's voice spoke.

Instantly, the windows of the office shattered into pieces and both Lords and Nemona's assistant felt their bodies being overwhelmed by an even greater force than before.

Meanwhile...

"Alright class turn your books to page number 15." The short man wearing a black glasses and a black suit stood in front of his class room.

The students did as they were instructed and turned to the respective page. It was titled 'Geomancy'.

"Today, all of you will begin a rather interesting topic: Geomancy." The man said.

"Beneath the ground's surface, there are thin rivers of Mana connected to the Voice of Aethelon. These lines are called 'Ley lines' and are the main reason there are monsters, entities, different gems etc.

The magic surrounding the manipulation of these ley lines is called 'Geomancy' and those who practise this art are called 'Geomacers'.

This academy itself is built on a ley clutter, which refers to a place where there are multiple ley lines. Though only the headmistress is known to be able manipulate this clutter of ley lines."

The man explained to his students.

"The rare phenomena that occurs when two people attempt to harness to power from the same ley line is called a Clash of Geomancy."

With those words, the windows of the classroom suddenly shattered and an immediate thought rushed the teacher's mind.

'And it looks like that rare phenomenon is taking place, right now.'
