Chapter 38 - Side Story: Beach Vacation Chaos

---

Part 1: A Well-Deserved Break

After weeks of nonstop dungeon raids, exams, and haunted school nights, the Headmaster gave Star Academy's top students a break.

Yujin, Kain, Sylvia, and Mira were sent to Azure Coast, a luxury beach resort.

Yujin stretched his arms, grinning. "Finally, we get to relax."

Sylvia applied sunscreen, adjusting her sunglasses. "A well-earned reward."

Mira skipped around, excited. "Let's build sandcastles!"

Kain crossed his arms, frowning. "I don't do vacations."

Mira promptly splashed a bucket of water on him. "Lighten up, Kain!"

He glared. "…You're so dead."

---

Part 2: Beach Fun… Sort Of

Mira and Kain built a sandcastle — or tried to.

Mira carefully shaped towers. Kain stabbed a stick through the moat, claiming it was a "defense system." Mira pouted. Kain smirked. Within minutes, the whole castle collapsed when Kain sneezed too hard.

Yujin and Sylvia went swimming.

Sylvia, graceful as ever, glided through the waves.

Yujin… sank like a rock.

Sylvia laughed, pulling him up. "Need swimming lessons, hero?"

Yujin coughed. "I blame the armor weight!"

Back on the shore, Mira clapped. "You two look cute together!"

Yujin blushed. Sylvia smirked. Kain rolled his eyes.

---

Part 3: Disaster Arrives

Just as they were settling in for a peaceful lunch, the resort alarm blared.

"Warning! Sea monster approaching!"

They turned to the ocean — and saw a gigantic crab monster crawling toward the shore, scattering tourists like bowling pins.

Yujin facepalmed. "Of course. Of course we can't have a normal day."

Sylvia grabbed her staff. "Battle mode?"

"Battle mode," Yujin confirmed.

Kain drew his sword. "Vacation's over."

Mira, still holding her ice cream, grinned. "Let's smash a crab!"

---

Part 4: Battle on the Beach

The crab roared — or rather, made a loud bubbling noise.

Kain charged, slicing at its legs.

Yujin fired energy blasts at its claws.

Sylvia chanted spells, slowing its movement.

Mira pelted it with magically frozen coconuts (she refused to drop her ice cream).

The crab retaliated by tossing beach chairs, umbrellas, and a confused seagull.

At one point, Kain accidentally got stuck in a giant sand hole Mira had dug earlier.

"WHO DIGS A PIT TRAP ON VACATION?!" Kain yelled, flailing.

Yujin snorted, almost missing his shot.

---

Part 5: Romantic Chaos

In the middle of the fight, Yujin and Sylvia found themselves back-to-back.

Sylvia smiled. "You know, this is kind of romantic."

Yujin blinked. "Sylvia, we're fighting a giant crab."

She giggled. "Still counts."

On the other side, Mira clung to Kain's arm as they dodged claws.

"Kain, you're so cool when you fight!"

"NOT THE TIME, MIRA!!"

---

Part 6: The Grand Finale

Finally, they drove the crab back into the sea with one combined attack:

Yujin charged his gun with explosive rounds.

Kain leaped from a beach rock, delivering a flaming sword strike.

Sylvia unleashed a tidal wave of magic.

Mira… threw her last coconut.

The crab let out a defeated bubble and vanished into the ocean.

The crowd of tourists erupted into cheers.

---

Part 7: Aftermath

Exhausted, they collapsed under a beach umbrella.

Mira leaned on Kain's shoulder. "Best. Vacation. Ever."

Kain grumbled, but his ears turned red.

Sylvia tucked her hair behind her ear, resting her head on Yujin's arm. "We should take more 'disasters' like this."

Yujin smiled softly. "Yeah… as long as we're all together."

---

Funny Epilogue

That evening, they sat around a bonfire roasting marshmallows.

Suddenly, a baby crab scuttled up to Kain's foot.

He twitched.

Mira squealed, "Aww, it followed us!"

Kain drew his sword.

"DON'T!!" everyone yelled.

---

Part 8: Nightfall at the Beach

The sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky with streaks of orange and pink.

A bonfire crackled on the sand, surrounded by Yujin, Sylvia, Kain, and Mira.

Tourists had mostly gone to bed after the day's "giant crab incident", leaving the beach quiet except for the waves.

---

Yujin & Sylvia: Sweet and Silly

Sylvia rested her head on Yujin's shoulder, watching the stars.

"It's beautiful," she murmured.

Yujin smiled. "Not as beautiful as you."

Sylvia raised an eyebrow. "Cheesy."

"True," he laughed, "but also true."

Suddenly, Sylvia pulled a prank—she slipped a chilled seashell down Yujin's back.

"ACK! That's cold!" Yujin yelped, jumping up and dancing around.

Sylvia laughed so hard she nearly fell into the sand.

"Romantic and entertaining," she teased, blowing him a kiss.

---

Kain & Mira: Chaos Couple

Meanwhile, Mira leaned into Kain, her legs tangled with his.

"Kain, isn't the moon pretty?" she asked dreamily.

Kain, still grumpy from the crab battle, grunted. "Yeah, sure."

Mira poked his cheek. "Hey… smile more! You're on vacation."

"I am smiling," Kain deadpanned.

Mira pouted—then sneakily shoved a marshmallow into his mouth.

"Mmff—Mira!"

"See? You look cuter like this!"

As Kain struggled to chew, Mira tried to braid his hair with tiny beach flowers, giggling the whole time.

---

Group Chaos: Moonlight Dare

Sylvia clapped her hands. "Let's play truth or dare!"

Yujin, already suspicious, narrowed his eyes. "Why do I feel like this will end badly?"

First round:

Sylvia dared Yujin to sing a love song — off-key. Yujin's "romantic ballad" made even the waves retreat.

Mira dared Kain to dance. Kain stiffly shuffled side to side like a robot. Mira declared it "the cutest thing she'd ever seen."

Yujin dared Sylvia to write "I love Yujin" in the sand with seashells. Sylvia rolled her eyes but did it—with a tiny heart at the end.

Second round:

Mira got dared to kiss Kain on the cheek. She didn't hesitate.

Kain got dared to call Mira "princess." He nearly choked, turning redder than the bonfire.

Romantic Walks & Starlit Confessions

Later that night, the pairs wandered off for some privacy.

Yujin and Sylvia walked barefoot along the shore.

"You know," Sylvia murmured, "even with monsters, disasters, and chaos… I'd still pick this trip."

"Me too," Yujin whispered. He gently kissed her forehead as the waves lapped at their feet.

Kain and Mira sat on a rock near the edge of the beach.

Mira leaned her head on Kain's shoulder. "You were really brave today."

Kain cleared his throat. "…You were braver."

Mira smiled softly. "That's why I love you, you know."

Kain blinked, cheeks burning, and mumbled, "…Yeah. Same here."

---

Final Disaster

Just as the night seemed perfect, a giant wave crashed onto shore—

—soaking Yujin, Sylvia, Kain, and Mira head to toe.

Mira screamed in surprise.

Sylvia burst out laughing.

Yujin sighed, drenched.

Kain stood completely still, dripping, whispering: "I hate vacations."

---

Final Scene: Wrapped in Towels

Back at their rooms, wrapped in towels, the four sat together under the stars.

Yujin leaned on Sylvia. Kain let Mira cling to him without complaining (much).

"It's been a perfect disaster," Yujin chuckled.

"Let's do it again sometime," Mira grinned.

Kain groaned. Sylvia smiled warmly. "Yeah. Next time… maybe no sea monsters."

Yujin laughed. "No promises."
