Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 1

"Push, mate, push!"

"I am, you absolute walnut! If you think it's so easy, why don't you do it!"

"If I could take your place, I would! I never wanted to see you in so much pain—gods above, you're crushing my fingers!"

"Oh, hush and suck it up. I'm pushing out a whole child! You'll survive your poor, delicate fingers!"

"Now, now—deep breaths, love. One last push, and she'll be here!"

"AAAHHHHHHH!!! AAHHHHGGHHH!!!"

The air in the room turned electric as a loud cry finally pierced the chaos. It wasn't the mother this time—it was the newborn, her voice shrill and furious, like a banshee who'd been woken up too early from a nap.

The tension broke in an instant. Relief washed over everyone like a tidal wave. A handsome man—his hair a pale silver that shimmered in the light—swiftly wrapped the tiny, wriggling baby in a warm sheet and gently placed her beside the exhausted mother.

"She's perfect," he whispered, placing her gently beside the exhausted mother. "So small… so loud."

The mother let out a weak chuckle. "Her name is Aria. Aria sounds like music—and she's going to be our most beautiful melody."

"That's a lovely name, mate," he said, brushing a strand of sweat-soaked hair from her face. "Rest now. You've done more than enough. And judging by the lungs on our daughter… we're going to need all the energy we can get."

XXX POV

'Huh? Where… where am I? And why do I feel like I got stuffed into a marshmallow?'

She tried to open her eyes, but they barely fluttered. Everything was too bright, too fuzzy, and too… soft. Her thoughts were sharp, but her body felt like a squishy noodle.

She tried to speak.

"WAAAHHH!! WAHHHH!"

'What the—?! Why am I crying? I didn't mean to cry! And what was that sound just now? That couldn't have come from me, right?!'

"Oh, look at that pouty little face! Are you hungry, my little sunshine?"

'Huh?! Who said that?! That voice sounds like a grown man—WAIT, why are you coming closer? WHAT ARE YOU DOING—'

"Go on, go to mama. Let's get you some milk, hmm?"

'No. NOPE. Absolutely not. I am a grown woman. I don't do… that.'

Her body betrayed her immediately.

"WAHHH! WAHHH!"

'Ugh. I'm losing control of my own body. This is humiliating. Is this karma? Did I offend a magical cow deity in a past life?!'

Despite her inner turmoil, her instincts took over. She began feeding as her mother held her close and murmured soft words. Everything in her screamed this is weird, but she couldn't resist the warmth and comfort. It was like being wrapped in love and a heated blanket at the same time.

"Awww, my princess is the cutest baby in all the realms!"

'Okay, okay… now that I've somewhat accepted my tragic baby fate, let's gather intel.'

The man's voice piped up again. "Of course she is. She's my daughter, after all."

'Yep. That's definitely my father. Arrogant and dramatic. I can see where this is going already.'

Another voice joined in—gentle, amused, and clearly unimpressed. "Yours? Excuse me, we made her."

'And that must be Mom. She sounds like she's got a slipper ready to fly across the room if Dad talks out of line again. I like her.'

Once her belly was full, Aria closed her eyes and feigned sleep.

But in reality, her mind was going a hundred miles a minute.

"She must be sleepy," her father whispered. "Give her to me, mate. I'll put her down."

"No," her mother snapped. "I want her beside me. She's staying."

A sheepish chuckle. "Alright, alright. You win. Again."

'So they're that kind of couple. Great. I'm going to be raised by lovebirds who flirt over diaper changes.'

"I'll finish up some work and come back to you both soon," he said warmly.

"Are those little brats okay? I heard screaming earlier."

'Brats? Wait. What brats?'

"Oh, the boys? They were fighting over who'd get to hold their baby sister first. But she's too tiny and delicate right now. Can't let her near those grubby boys yet—they'll pass on all their germs. Maybe in a week or two."

'BOYS?! I have brothers?! Oh, sweet potato—thank the stars. I won't be completely alone in this world.'

"Don't be too hard on them," her mother murmured, "They're just excited."

"I know, I know," her father replied softly, pressing kisses to both mother and daughter's foreheads before heading out "But Aria's still so tiny. We'll let them meet her properly once she's stronger."

As the door closed, a peaceful hush fell over the room.

But that fleeting comfort was quickly overridden by a wave of frustration.

'BUT I AM STILL MAD. What the actual fudge, Dad?! You didn't say anything about being reborn as a damn baby! You just said I'd go to Beastworld, not that I'd lose my entire body and start life from scratch like a helpless potato. I wasn't ready. I wasn't prepared!'

Her irritation simmered. But along with it came curiosity.

My powers—are they still here?'

She focused inward, reaching for her old strength, the force that once flowed like rivers in her veins.

It was still there. Distant. Faint. But there.

'Alright. Not completely powerless. Most of my cultivation was tied to my body, not my soul. Typical. The one time I need a refund policy…'

But one thing made her feel a little better.

The mana here? It was insane. Rich, dense, vibrant. She could almost taste it in the air.

'I might have been nerfed, but at least I'm in the perfect place for a comeback arc.'

She pouted. Or at least, she tried to. It just made her cheeks puff adorably.

'Still, I can't believe my dad didn't tell me I'd be starting over like this. I was expecting a dramatic reincarnation—maybe a glowing portal, a wise spirit guide, a cool montage! Not... not this. I was supposed to wake up like a mysterious beauty, not a squirmy, milk-craving baby blob!'

She sighed—more like a soft hiccup—and curled into the warmth of her mother's arms.

'Fine. You win, fate (Dad). I'll play your little game. But know this—I am going to become powerful again. if this world or you try to pull anything funny… I will throw hands. Even if they're baby-sized.'

And that's the end of the first chapter—cue dramatic baby cries.

So… surprise! We're a baby now. Yeah. I know. If you're anything like Aria, you probably feel a bit betrayed by the whole "rebirth" deal. Like—couldn't we have at least kept our adult body? No? Okay then. Writing this chapter felt like throwing myself into a world of fluff, confusion, and existential dread—and I loved every second of it.

For those of you joining me from Wattpad: welcome back! I'm really grateful you made the jump. I do recommend rereading the chapters here, since there were some delays(you might have forgotten some finer details) and I've polished a few things—tightened up the writing, adjusted pacing, that sort of thing. Nothing too drastic, but enough to be worth a second look.

And if you're new here—welcome to the fam. Things might seem confusing at first (I threw a baby into a world of beastmen and emotional baggage, after all), but I promise it'll make sense within the next 2–3 chapters. I've tried to explain things as clearly as possible, but if you have questions, please drop them in the comments. I'll happily respond!

Also: I'm not a professional writer. This is a passion project built out of pure imagination. There may be grammatical hiccups or plot holes here and there, but I'll do my best to keep them to a minimum.

Thank you so much for reading this story and sharing this journey with me. I hope you enjoy Beastmen as much as I do—there's a lot more chaos, magic, and emotional damage coming your way. 💖
