Chapter 49 - Chapter 49: Having a Negotiate

It had been two days since Lucifer and Nothing had moved to a new place. During this time, their lives had improved a little, just a little.

To be honest, this place was still no different from hell for Lucifer and Nothing. No, it was even worse than hell for both of them.

During this time, Nothing and Lucifer had often observed their base from afar to check if those people had left or not, and of course, they hadn't.

It was understandable, who would want to leave a safe place, with traps that had already been setted up for them and plenty of meat to eat? If it was Lucifer, he would do the same.

Although he felt angry and mad, Lucifer couldn't help but feel lucky. The fact that Clark, Damian, and Lynja were still staying in Lucifer's base meant that Lucifer wouldn't have to go anywhere to find them and kill them.

It would be a lot easier for him to Kill those people.

In addition, during these 2 days, Lucifer and Nothing also took turns to monitor the giant statue that they were trapped in before.

Although both of them did not want to do this at all because it was really threatening and could lead to their deaths at any time, Lucifer and Nothing had no other choice.

Their target was to wait for those Centaurs to gather around the statue again. Those Centaurs were necessary for their plan.

Lucifer and Nothing knew that they would have no chance of defeating those 3 people, therefore Lucifer would use the Centaurs to kill those 3 bastards. He would take advantage of those monsters.

Today was the 3rd day since Lucifer and Nothing had to live in the cave. Just like the previous days, Lucifer and Nothing hardly did much in the morning other than monitoring their base and the statue.

Repeating the same job for 3 consecutive days had made Nothing feel a bit unbearable. That was why he kept complaining to Lucifer:

"Hey Lucifer, how much longer do we have to do this? Why don't we just rush in and kill those three guys when they are lowering their guard? I want to go back to the base as soon as possible… I don't want to sleep in the cave anymore…"

Lucifer couldn't remember how many times Nothing had said this today. And just like the previous times, Lucifer only answered Nothing's question with an extremely grumpy tone:

"Hey, you son of a bitch, if you don't want to do it, then get the fuck out of here. Don't bother me. Oh, but if you don't follow my plan, then when we take back our base, I'll let you sleep on the ground at night no matter what."

Hearing that, Nothing immediately stayed silent. But Lucifer was pretty sure that Nothing would complain again in a few dozen minutes. He had already gotten used to it.

Right now, they were lurking in a bush near the statue, waiting for the right moment. The sky was now having a warm orange color, indicating that it was now afternoon and the night was drawing nearer.

A deadly and dangerous night was approaching. But Lucifer and Nothing had no intention of returning to their cave.

They decided to wait.

And the time Lucifer and Nothing spent was not wasted at all. Just a few dozen minutes later, a herd of Centaurs had gradually gathered at the foot of that statue.

At first, there were only about 4 to 5 Centaurs, but over time, there were now more than 50 Centaurs around the statue. Each monster looked very strong and scary.

But they were the key to Lucifer and Nothing's victory.

Lucifer immediately turned to Nothing when he realized that the moment they had been waiting for had come:

"Hey Nothing, do it."

Nothing said nothing but sighed tiredly. He didn't want to do this at all, but if it could help him regain his base, Nothing would be more than willing.

Nothing stepped out of the bushes, deliberately making as much noise as possible to attract the attention of all the Centaurs gathered around the statue.

And as expected, all of those monsters instantly turned towards Nothing as soon as they heard the noise, looking at him with hungry, deadly eyes and full of murderous intent. But they still didn't make a move.

Nothing suddenly felt a slight shiver and chill down his spine, he began to think again whether what he was doing was right or wrong. But no matter what the answer was, everything was too late to be changed.

Nothing quickly raised both hands up in the air, showing that he didn't want to fight or was carrying any weapons.

That wasn't all, Nothing even tried to smile comfortably to show that he was just a friendly person, but to be honest, he would rather not do that because it looked disgusting as hell.

"What's the matter? Who are you by the way?" A Centaur stepped forward to face Nothing.

The monster was extremely muscular and had a very solid body, Lucifer wondered which was harder between a rock and that body. In addition, from what he observed, this Centaur seemed to be as strong or even stronger than Manuel.

'I'm so worried…' Lucifer thought even though all he needed to do was hide in some godforsaken place.

Nothing took a deep breath, the purpose was to calm himself down before opening his mouth:

"Hello, my name is Nothing, I wonder if I can talk to everyone for a bit? Don't worry, this conversation won't last too long."

A series of murmurs immediately came from the Centaurs, but because the murmurs were so quiet, Lucifer and Nothing couldn't understand what they were talking about.

On the other hand, it seemed like the Centaur standing in front of Nothing didn't seem to pay any attention to his words. The monster still had a stern expression on his scarred face.

After a few seconds of silence, he finally spoke:

"State your name."

"My name is Nothing." Nothing replied immediately.

"Okay Nothing, my name is Nea, the leader of the Centaurs. First of all, I have to praise you for having the courage to come out and face us like this. But weren't you the one who was on top of that statue a few days ago? The one that had killed a lot of our friends."

Both Lucifer and Nothing froze. They didn't expect that this leader would know Nothing's face. But wait, what if he was just lying to test Nothing?

Nothing couldn't panic now and ruin the whole plan.

"What do you mean? This is my first time at this statue?" The way Nothing lied was so perfect that it was as if it had been practiced before.

The leader of the Centaurs stared at Nothing for a while without saying anything. After a while, he finally smiled, but it wasn't a contemptuous smile or a negative one.

"You're really interesting, human. Alright, then tell me what you want to say, I'm willing to listen to you."

Nothing chuckled to himself, his plan had actually worked.

"Yes, if that's the case, can I ask you to kill three people?" The way Nothing said it was as if killing someone was no big deal.

This time, Nea was the one who had to gape, frozen for a few seconds. Then, he smiled, and this time, his smile was filled with contempt and pity.

A hateful smile.

"Of course not, are you stupid?" Nea said.
