When he was living in the slums with those scum who only knew violence and killing, Lucifer had always had everything he earned taken away from him. No matter how worthless the things he had were, they would always be taken away from him by the thugs.
At times like that, Lucifer could only swallow his anger because he knew that he could not fight back against those thugs because they are a lot stronger than him and Lucifer was just a Deadass Flies. If he dared to fight back, his end would be death.
Because he had always had things taken away from him, Lucifer came to cherish the things he had more than ever.
And when he had awakened the system, he swore to himself that he would always protect what belonged to him. He was willing to kill anyone who tried to take or steal something that belonged to him.
And now, seeing the base he worked so hard to build being taken over by the people he hated the most, Lucifer couldn't take it anymore. There was always a limit to everything.
The biggest reason Lucifer had let Clark, Damian, and Lynja live until now was simply because they were stronger than him and he couldn't defeat them, but things were different now.
He would kill them for stealing his things, even if they were much stronger than him.
Lucifer was no longer afraid, he had faced much threatening things than this many times over and still managed to survive somehow. He had more experiences than these people.
Lucifer already had a plan in mind anyway. The moment he realized what was happening, his mind had been working at full capacity to come up with a plan to kill them.
They didn't deserve to live.
"What should we do now, Lucifer? Our base is being taken over." Nothing asked.
"We'll wait for the right time and kill them all. Don't worry, if my plan is correct, they'll die soon. We'll kill them and take all the Artifacts they have."
Lucifer looked at Clark, Damian, and Lynja's Artifacts one last time before completely leaving.
Unlike him, these guys were equipped with a lot of useful Artifacts, enough for them to survive in this lethal place. Meanwhile, Lucifer only had the Dagger Of The Night as a weapon when he entered the Trial.
The reason he didn't receive any Artifacts from Owen was because Owen wouldn't get anything in return if he gave Lucifer more good Artifacts. After all, they weren't even family or that close.
Moreover, Lucifer's chance of surviving in the 2nd Trial was quite low anyways.
That's why receiving a good Artifact like the Dagger Of The Night was already a huge blessing for Lucifer.
Lucifer didn't blame Owen because if it was him, Lucifer would do the same. Honestly, Lucifer didn't have any potential for Owen to invest in him.
But everything would change completely after Lucifer survived and completed the 2nd Trial.
But then Lucifer's eyes suddenly lit up as if he realized something crucial.
'Wait, why did Reina only get a single sword? I thought she was the daughter of the Shadow Vipers clan? They wouldn't be that stingy, right?'
It was understandable that Lucifer only received a single Artifact, but it was unreasonable that Drifting Aurora also only got a single Artifact for the girl to participate in the 2nd Trial.
Why would such a world-famous clan only give Drifting Aurora a single Artifact? Why didn't they give her more Artifacts? After all, she was a part of the clan, right?
But no matter what the reason was, Lucifer didn't care. He had gotten off topic a bit, his current goal was to kill those guys, not to pay attention to Reina.
"So where should we go now?" Nothing asked with a disappointed look. It could be seen that this companion of Lucifer was not very happy to know that their sleeping place had been taken.
Like Lucifer, Nothing could not forgive these bastards either.
"Let's hide somewhere for now, we'll make our move when the time comes."
After saying that, Lucifer went deep into the forest, to a small cave quite far from the base that he had found a few days ago. That was also where they would be staying for the time being.
***
How should Lucifer describe this cave…well…it wasn't too bad? Or for some people, this place was no different from hell, or even worse.
At first glance, the cave was small and a bit damp, but it was large enough for Lucifer and Nothing to sleep uncomfortably. There was no furniture in here, so their living conditions would be a bit worse.
For Lucifer, this place could be considered acceptable, if he had to compare, this cave was quite similar to his room in the slums.
A place that was narrow, dark, dirty, and damp. A place that was extremely suitable for a dirty rat like Lucifer. It had been a long time since he had experienced this feeling, and guess what? He didn't hate it at all.
'What's wrong with me?'
On the other hand, Nothing seemed to be feeling extremely grumpy and unpleasant because this place was no different from a place for dogs to live, an actual dog kennel. The only thing that could keep Nothing's mood high was being able to play with Volcanic Slime.
Putting aside that annoying person, Lucifer now needed to prepare a few things before it got dark to ensure that their lives would be saved while they were sleeping.
Since this place wasn't their base, of course there weren't any traps around the cave and they didn't have any meat to eat, and worse, monsters could enter the cave at any time and kill them.
So what Lucifer needed to do was to make the monsters think that there was no cave here. And he had already had a suitable idea for this.
Lucifer quickly chopped a lot of wood using his Whisper From The Highers. Thanks to this Wakizashi, his progress in chopping down the trees was even faster than when using the Dagger Of The Night.
After gathering enough wood that he needed, Lucifer connected them together using vines. By doing this, he was able to create a makeshift wooden door or something that could be used to block the entrance of the cave.
Of course, this cannot fool special monsters, but in the dark, those monsters will not be able to distinguish whether this wooden door is fake or real.
"Done."
Lucifer tiredly wiped the sweat from his forehead. Lucifer thought he had gotten used to this, but it turned out that wasn't the case, he still needed to expend a lot of stamina to create this.
Of course, Lucifer was just a skinny and weak person after all.
