~Alex's POV
Luca took me back home, and I let myself breathe for a moment, thinking it was over. But then, as I settled into my chair, a thought struck me. Bella never got her apology. That wasn't acceptable.
My jaw tightened as I reached for my phone, dialing Luca's number. "Bring him back. Now."
I sat in my leather chair, fingers steepled together as I stared at the empty space. I had sent Marcus away, given him a chance to disappear, but something about the whole ordeal still gnawed at me. I hated loose ends. And Bella, she was anything but one. She was now a focal point of my fury, my control, and my intrigue.
Luca walked in, his expression unreadable as always. "He's been found," he said simply, standing by the door, awaiting my orders.
My jaw tightened. "Already? That didn't take long."
Luca gave a slow nod. "He never left the city. We caught him trying to book a last-minute flight. He panicked the moment he saw our men."
