Chapter 12 - Singularity 1

[Scene: Funeral Room – Chaldea]

The room was silent.

The air was still and somber as all stood together, dressed in dark ceremonial robes. The names of the fallen staff members were read aloud. No one spoke. The grief was shared, but quietly carried.

Romani held a candle as Da Vinci offered a prayer.

Olga, arms folded, stood near the front, her face hard yet her eyes mournful.

Even Belle, emotionless as ever, bowed her head.

A small whimper broke the silence—Airi, clutching onto Ritsuka's sleeve.

He gently picked her up and held her close, her small presence grounding him in the moment.

[Scene Transition: Dining Room – Post-Funeral]

The smell of warm dishes filled the air.

Though the mood was still heavy, Boudica's cooking brought a rare comfort.

Airi dug into the food with wide, sparkling eyes.

Airi:"Yummy! Really yummy!"

Boudica, smiling brightly, knelt down beside her and added another helping to her plate.

Boudica:"Eat as much as you like, little one. I made plenty."

Ritsuka, sitting beside her, carefully helped Airi eat, occasionally wiping the corners of her mouth with a napkin.

He smiled faintly—there was something healing in her innocence.

Da Vinci watched this quietly.

Romani, leaning over, whispered to her:

Romani:"Feels like she's a light sent to Chaldea…"

Da Vinci (softly):"Maybe even a blessing… from something beyond."

Slowly, the weight in the room lifted. Laughter began to return.

It wasn't perfect, but it was something.

[Montage: Preparation for First Mission]

The next day was decided—their first official mission using Rayshift would begin.

Chaldea buzzed with activity.

Olga reviewed simulations with Romani.

Da Vinci worked double-time with the tech team to stabilize the Rayshift coordinates.

Gudako and Boudica bonded like sisters, laughing while carrying equipment together.

Belle still wore her usual stoic mask, but Ritsuka caught the way she paused once, just briefly, as Boudica brushed a strand of hair from her face. There was a warmth there—small, but real.

Mandricardo followed Ritsuka around with a cautious but determined look.

Ritsuka chuckled to himself every time Mandricardo muttered:

Mandricardo:"Don't mess this up. Don't mess this up. He's a good Master… don't blow it..."

[Scene: Late Night – Hallway Outside Ritsuka's Room]

Ritsuka had just finished checking Airi's blanket and was about to close the door when—

Gudako popped her head around the corner, grinning.

Gudako:"Oiii, Ritsuka~ Let's sleep together. Me, you, and Airi~ Like a little family picnic!"

Ritsuka blinked, expression flat.

Then, without hesitation, he lightly smacked the top of her head.

Ritsuka:"Oi. Not happening."

Gudako (rubbing her head):"Oww! What the hell, man?! I still haven't even given the green light for you to be my boyfriend!"

Ritsuka crossed his arms.

Ritsuka:"Good. Because I also haven't given you the green light to be my girlfriend."

He sighed.

"Besides… now's not the time for relationships. Not when I barely even know you."

Gudako paused, then smiled gently.

Gudako:"Fair. You're more mature than I expected…"

She turned to walk back toward her room but couldn't help getting in the last word.

Gudako:"你还是挺可爱的,笨蛋." (Nǐ háishì tǐng kě'ài de, bèndàn.)

["You're still kinda cute, idiot."] Sakura translate her words in Ritsuka's mind.

Ritsuka raised an eyebrow. He did his best to make straight face and lie to her.

Ritsuka:"Oi. What does it mean?"

Gudako:"Good night, Ritsuka~"

She winked and vanished down the hallway.

Ritsuka sighed, closing the door.

Ritsuka:"…Weirdo."

---

[Scene: Ritsuka's Room – Late Night]

The lights were dim. A peaceful silence blanketed the room, but one small figure stirred under the covers.

Airi turned restlessly, little hands clutching the blanket, her eyes glassy.

Ritsuka, half-asleep, sat up immediately. He reached out gently.

Ritsuka:"Hey, little princess… can't sleep?"

She sat up slowly, her voice small and trembling.

Airi:"I… I miss Jerry…"

Her tiny lips quivered, eyes growing wet as she remembered her beloved dog from her old life.

Ritsuka's expression softened. He picked her up carefully, resting her head on his shoulder.

Ritsuka:"…Yeah. I miss my grandpa too."

He stood and began pacing slowly across the room, lightly tapping her back in a soothing rhythm.

Ritsuka:"But you know… once everything's over, I'll talk to Director Olga. Maybe we can go meet Jerry again. So for now… just hold on a little, okay?"

Airi, nestled into him, gave a soft nod. Her breathing calmed, warm against his shoulder.

Moments later, she was fast asleep, lips parted in peaceful slumber.

Ritsuka smiled and gently placed her back onto the bed, covering her carefully with the blanket. Then he lay down beside her, one hand gently resting near hers.

Ritsuka (thinking):"…My daughter is really cute. No one's prettier than her. Not even a goddess…"

His heart felt full. Not with pride, but with love. A father's love.

As the room quieted into slumber, Ritsuka activated his inner command system mentally.

Ritsuka:"Sakura. Let's do gacha now, I'm in good mood."

A soft purple light bloomed behind his eyes as a soothing voice echoed in his mind.

Sakura (AI Voice):"Yes, host. Awaiting input."

Ritsuka:"I want to use my reward 3 summoning tickets."

Sakura:"Confirmed. Initiating summoning process. Please stand by."

Ticket 1 – Result: Water Purifier Powder

Ritsuka (blinking):"…Seriously?"

Ticket 2 – Result: Salt

Ritsuka:"…Great. Maybe next time I'll get pepper and complete the kitchen set."

Sakura: "Storing both items in Support Storage."

Ticket 3 – Result: Ridol of X-RIDER

A metallic gleam flashed as a long, sleek baton-like object materialized in front of him, hovering for a moment before dropping into his hands.

Ritsuka (surprised):"Wait—Ridol? As in… X-RIDER? But Who's Rider X?"

The item was sleek, with buttons labeled H, S, R, and L along its handle. It hummed with dormant energy.

Sakura: "Ridol of X-RIDER acquired. Scanning complete. Displaying functions:"

---

[Weapon Info Displayed On Holographic Interface]

Ridol Whip – Press 'H' to access whip form. Ideal for medium-range and precision strikes, also usable like a fencing sword.

Ridol Stick – Press 'S' for a durable staff. Press again to fire 'X'-shaped energy blasts for ranged combat.

Ridol Rope – Press 'R' to activate rope mode. Useful for grappling or restraint.

Ridol Longpole – Press 'L' to extend into polearm for wide-sweep attacks or vaulting.

Ritsuka grinned, turning the weapon over in his hands.

Ritsuka:"…Now this is more like it."

He placed the Ridol in his storage.

Ritsuka (thinking):"Thanks, Sakura. You really came through."

Sakura (softly):"Always watching over you, Host."

Ritsuka looked over to the sleeping Airi one last time, then slowly let himself drift into sleep, a faint smile on his face.

---

[Scene: Ritsuka's Room – Morning]

The first rays of dawn peeked through the window. Ritsuka slowly opened his eyes, the warmth of a small presence beside him reminding him of the new chapter in his life.

He leaned over and gently nudged her.

Ritsuka:"Time to wake up, little princess. Big day today."

Airi, still curled up like a kitten, let out a soft yawn, rubbing her eyes sleepily.

He picked her up and carried her to the bathroom.

Ritsuka (smiling):"Alright, let's get that smile freshened up—say aah."

He gently brushed her tiny teeth, her mouth half-open as she blinked with drowsy eyes.

But just as he reached for her towel to help with her bath—

Airi (pouting):"I can do it! I don't need Daddy's help to bathe!"

Ritsuka (startled):"Eh?! S-So sudden?!"

Still, he chuckled in surprise and ruffled her hair.

Ritsuka:"Okay, okay. I'll get the warm water ready then. But if you flood the bathroom, I'm calling Olga."

Airi stuck out her tongue and marched into the bathroom with her towel like a determined knight.

---

[Scene: Chaldea Hall – Later Morning]

Freshly dressed and clean, Ritsuka walked through the pristine halls of Chaldea with Airi holding his hand, dressed in a cute white and blue outfit.

They entered the main hall where the rest were gathered.

Airi (smiling brightly):"Good morning!"

Olga, Romani, Da Vinci, Mash, Bondica, Belle, Gudako, Mandricardo, and several Chaldea staff all felt a jolt to their hearts—like a divine arrow of cuteness had struck them at once.

Da Vinci (staggering):"Ughh… what is this angel doing walking among mortals?"

Mash (blushing):"She's too precious…"

Gudako (clutching her heart):"Mommy got Critical hit…"

Ritsuka stood back, watching their reactions with a grin of a proud father.

Ritsuka:"She's strong, isn't she?"

Olga (coughing, hiding her smile):

"Ahem. Well… yes, of course. Here, Airi."

She handed her a piece of chocolate again.

Airi (cheerfully):"Thank you, aunty Olga!"

Olga's eye twitched at the word AUNTY, but she allowed it. Just this once.

---

[Scene: Command Room – Large Screen Active]

The large monitor activated, displaying swirling coordinates and visuals of a destroyed France. Tension filled the air.

Romani:"Singularity F… France, in the year 1431. Something is wrong with the flow of history."

Da Vinci:"We're detecting extreme magical activity. This is where our first mission begins."

The tone shifted. Everyone focused.

Airi, sensing the change, grew quiet. Her eyes shimmered with worry as she clung to Ritsuka's sleeve.

Ritsuka knelt down to her level, resting both hands on her shoulders.

Ritsuka (softly):"Airi… do you remember what I told you?"

She gave a shaky nod, tears threatening at the corners of her eyes.

Ritsuka:"We're family. And family always comes back. You'll be with Aunty Olga, Uncle Romani, and Belle. They'll keep you safe. And look—"

He pointed to the giant screen.

Ritsuka:"You'll see me there. Fighting bad guys. Doing superhero stunts. Cool explosions. No problem!"

Airi (sniffling):"Promise…?"

Ritsuka (smiling, holding out his pinky):"Pinky promise."

Gudako (kneeling beside Airi): "And I'll keep him safe too. So don't worry, okay?"

Airi's small pinky linked with both theirs.

Airi:"I'll wait…"

Bondica stood beside Gudako, giving Airi a silent nod.

Mandricardo, next to Ritsuka, gave a small thumbs-up to the girl watching from afar.

Ritsuka (thinking):"Just wait, Airi… I'll come back to you."

Airi (quietly):"…Go win, Daddy."

Blue light flickered and pulsed inside the twin Rayshift pods. Inside stood two Masters—Ritsuka Fujimaru and Gudako—each flanked by their chosen Servants.

With them were

Mash Kyrielight, Gudako's loyal demi-Servant.

Mandricardo, hands in his pockets, exuding reluctant bravery.

Bondica, tall, armored, sharp-eyed, standing beside Gudako.

The countdown finished.

{"Pseudo-Spiritron Transfer… complete."}

The sensation of falling through layers of light and time faded—replaced by the smell of damp soil, the sound of insects, and the cold bite of night air.

As the light cleared, the group found themselves standing on a rough dirt path flanked by old stone markers. Fog slithered around their feet.

Gudako (blinking):"…Huh? Did Fou just Rayshift with us?"

Fou:"Fou~!"

The little white beast hopped from the circle behind Mash and landed gracefully with a bounce. He twitched his ears as if sniffing danger.

Mash (tilting her head):"I don't remember Fou being registered for Rayshift…"

Mandricardo (half-panicking):"If a random puffball can sneak in, what does that say about Chaldea's security?"

Bondica (dryly):"Maybe he's our good luck charm."

Gudako (smiling faintly):"I'd like that. We'll take all the luck we can get."

Suddenly, a call activated. Ritsuka tapped his comm unit.

Romani's voice came through with static.

Romani:"Ritsuka, Gudako—good. You've landed safely. I can confirm the TIME AXIS: A.D. 1431, Vaucouleurs, Lorraine region of France. It's a little off our intended mark, but still within safe tolerances."

Olga (serious):"Be careful. This region was supposed to be peaceful during this year… But Mr. X did—"

Fou suddenly let out a loud shriek.

Fou:"Fouu!!"

Everyone turned to the direction he faced. Up above the tree line, they saw something unnatural—a massive magic circle-like pattern was glowing in the night sky. Swirling in the heavens like a celestial sigil, it pulsed with an ominous light.

Gudako (tense):"That… definitely isn't part of recorded history. RIGHT?"

Mash:"The air around it… I'm detecting magical energy levels far exceeding what should exist in this era."

Olga (over comm):"I've reviewed the records again. That formation doesn't exist in our world. This isn't just a historical distortion—it's a violation. It was done by Mr. X"

Ritsuka (steadying his breath):"Then we need to move. We need information—fast."

The group headed toward Vaucouleurs, staying alert as they followed the dirt trail. The town sat beyond the trees, its outline barely visible in the dark.

Suddenly—

Ritsuka (raising his hand):"Halt!"

The group stopped at once.

Gudako:"What is it, Ritsuka?"

Ritsuka:"Over there."

He pointed toward a dim area between two broken stone houses. To the left, a narrow creek gurgled quietly. On the right, decaying wooden homes stood eerily quiet, their windows dark.

Mandricardo (squinting):"Is that… a person?"

Mash (softly):"The movements are strange… erratic."

The figure ahead jerked awkwardly in the darkness, its limbs swaying in unnatural rhythms.

Bondica (grimacing):"…That's not human."

Mash:"Sorry? Then what—"

Before she could finish, the figure stepped into the range of their torchlight.

Its skin was pale and decaying. Eyes dull and dead. The stench hit them like a wave—rot, death, and something unclean clung to the air.

Gudako (sharp and cold): "…It's a ZOMBIE."

NOTE:

Well, here's the chapter! Like I mentioned before, most Singularities in this story are different and don't follow the FGO storyline exactly.

Of course, you'll notice some similarities to the original FGO story.

I think the first Singularity will take about 10 chapters to complete.

Also, in the next chapter, Kamen Rider fans might be able to guess who the main villain is based on the hints I'll drop.

Don't worry, both Jalter and Jeanne will appear in this story. They have Main importance like main Story.

As for Airi and the father-daughter dynamic with Ritsuka, I added that because I really enjoy writing family drama. If you've read a few of my fanfictions, you've probably noticed that I've unknowingly turned Ritsuka into a father figure.

Anyway, I hope you're looking forward to the next chapter!
