Zane's POV
I swallowed hard. "Did we… have sex before?"
I squeezed my eyes shut in shame, the words finally slipping free.
I mean the Zane of this world. I have to know if he already had sex with Alfie.
"Alpha Rhys said he had thought I collapsed from not being able to handle your… uh… intense bedroom stamina." I added, with my eyes still shut.
Silence.
A long, suffocating silence that made me open my eyes only to see Alfie staring at me....not with mockery, not with anger, but with something surprisingly innocent. His expression was unreadable, but it didn't carry the wicked edge I expected.
"We didn't, right?" I asked, my voice small. I scanned his face for clues, as if the truth was written there. "Well that couldn't have been the reason why you saved me then? Probably I have some health issues right?" I added with a light chuckle.
He didn't answer right away. Then, after what felt like an eternity, he said:
"What do you think?"
