"Did I hear you say she's long dead and forgotten?" I asked, my eyes fixed on hers, my heart racing at her silly expression.
"Yeah? And what do you have to do with that?" she asked, then sneered, looking around. "Mum, Dad, what's she even doing here?"
No response.
After a brief second, Dad broke the silence.
"She said she knew Emma, and that's the only reason she's here."
"I see." Lily scoffed, moving a little closer, closing the space between us. "Maybe she was sent to bring back the sorrow in our hearts. She's always caused trouble wherever she appears," she snapped, eyes like daggers locked on mine.
My heart boiled. My teeth gritted.
"The kettle calling the pot black. How about the tables turn and you're seen for the true sister and betrayer you are?" I shot back.
She startled slightly but raised her hands.
"How dare you spill such silly words to me in my house?" She tried to release her hands, but I caught them just in time, holding them in mid-air.
