...

"Akira, as soon as your name is known throughout the galaxy, many nobles with malicious intent will try to kill you to try to get the position of heir and Lala's fiancé" - Gid explained.

"What?! You have to do something to prevent it, Dad!" – Lala exclaimed alarmed.

Will those toad-faced fat men try to kill her future husband and the person she loves the most? She would never allow it!

"Lala. First let Akira tell me what he thinks" – Gid said.

For Gid, Akira's reaction was very important. If he were to cower in such a situation, Gid would automatically take away his position as his heir even if he had won the bet, after all, his heir has to be brave, fierce and cruel to his enemies.

"What do you want me to do?" – I asked calmly.

Actually, I already knew that this was going to happen because in the manga exactly the same thing happened. In fact, Yami's character appears precisely to kill Rito. She was hired by someone whose name I don't even remember to kill Rito, but thanks to his luck as a protagonist, Rito escapes being killed, that's why when I listened to him I didn't get upset because I already knew about all this when I knew what world I had arrived at and what my goal would be, I was prepared for this.

As far as my question is concerned, the truth is that it makes perfect sense. If those nobles send me assassins: What do I do with them? Do I kill them or do I bring them before him? It's a pretty important question.

Seeing that Akira remained unfazed by his words, Gid smiled.

"You can kill them or give them to Zastin, you decide what to do. I will not intervene in your decision" - Gid said.

"How many murderers will come for me?" – I asked again.

In manga there are only few, but I can't trust that information since this world is real and not fiction.

"Many. There are hundreds of nobles in the galaxy who sent marriage proposals to Lala and there are many who want to become King of the Galaxy, so they will send a lot of assassins" - Gid replied.

"And I guess you can't stop them for some incomprehensible reason. Am I wrong?" – I asked.

As King of the Galaxy, he must surely have methods to prevent those nobles from sending assassins.

"I could, but I won't" – Gid said.

"Can you tell me the reason?" – I asked again.

If he can stop those killers from coming for me. Why let them do whatever they want?

"I have several reasons. The first is that I need you to gain experience. Being King is not as beautiful as being powerful and being served by beauties, you also have many obligations and one of them is to maintain order and peace" – said Gid.

"And what does that have to do with my question?" – I asked puzzled.

"In most cases, the royal guard takes care of all these things, but you can't always depend on the royal guard. What would happen if one day a murderer tried to kill you? What would you do if the royal guard can't deal with a problem and you have to intervene? As a future King, you must have much more power than you have now. Just because you made Zastin use almost 50% of his power doesn't make you strong. To be King you need to surpass Zastin in power and for that, you need experience in fights. That's one of the reasons why I'm not going to do nothing about that" - Gid explained.

In other words, he wants me to get stronger by constantly risking my life. What is this? A Chinese cultivation world or something? I can't be chased by murderers all my life.

"Don't worry. If you can get the assasins out of who his client is and have visual evidence as a proof, he will be able to accuse said nobleman of treason and execute him instantly. That way he won't give you problems anymore" – said Gid.

"But you said that there are hundreds of nobles waiting to claim the throne" – I said with a frown.

"That's an obstacle you'll have to overcome. Don't you want to be haunted forever? Then take the initiative yourself, boy!" – Gid said.

Are you telling me to find a way to kill those nobles myself?

"Akira, you have the talent to be King. At first I thought you were a mere human who wasn't worth of anything, but now that I've spoken to you in person, I must admit that you have talent. If you pass this test, you will undoubtedly be King in the near future. I have no doubt about it" - said Gid.

His words are very flattering, but they do not reassure me too much.

"And don't worry. Even they themselves know that they cannot be excessive. You may know that I am going to let them enter in this planet, but they won't know and they will try to circumvent my security at all costs. As I have already said, I will turn a blind eye, but they will not dare to send many assassins and very often for fear of being discovered. That will give you time to make the decisions you have to make" - Gid said.

In other words, he wants me to fend for myself.

"Dad. Can't change your mind? I don't want Akira to be in constant danger" – Lala said sadly.

"Lala, I'm sorry. But Akira will assume a position of utmost importance for the entire galaxy and this is a test that he must overcome. I went through something similar too" - Gid said.

Even much worse.

"But..." – Lala tried to refute.

"Don't worry, Lala. No matter what kind of assassin comes for me, I will defeat them all" – I said with a smile as I showed my Omnitrix.

As long as I don't overconfident and act cautiously, the Omnitrix will help me overcome all obstacles, I have no proof, but no doubts either.

"If you say so, but be careful… I couldn't bear it if something happened to you" - Lala said, a note of concern in her voice.

Lala looked so adorable right now that I almost kissed her on the lips. Thanks goodness I restrained!

"Ehem!" – Gid said.

The two of them had stared at each other for a few seconds. In fact, it even seemed like they might kiss at any moment. Gid wasn't too happy about it, but… what could he do? His daughter now had a fiancé, and it wasn't his place to interfere in their relationship. Gid just hoped Akira wouldn't corrupt Lala too soon, at the very least, he wished she could make it to marriage still a virgin...

*Note: An F for Gid in the comments.

Listening to Gid, we were both startled and realized again the situation we were in now.

"Anyway. Be careful and do what you have to do and take care of my daughter Lala for me. I hope you protect her properly" - Gid said.

"With my life!" – I nodded.

For me, my women (although I only have one currently) are untouchable and anyone who dares to mess with them... he will have to face serious consequences.

"Fine!" – said Gid.

Then, he looked at Zastin, who had been silent, listening to the conversation without saying a word.

"Zastin!" – Gid said.

"Tell me, Your Majesty!" – Zastin said respectfully.

"For the moment you will stay on planet Earth to inform me of everything" – Gid said.

"As you order, Your Majesty!" – said Zastin.

"Fine. Goodbye" – Gid said.

Then, he said goodbye to Lala once more and left.

"Akira-sama, Lala-sama, you can leave if you want" – Zastin said.

Now it was official, Akira had become the heir of the King of the Galaxy and the fiancé of the first princess, Lala. Now Akira deserved the same respect he showed for the royal family.

"We'll be leaving" – I nodded.

"Yes, let's go!" – Lala said.

Then, she grabbed my arm and we both went straight home.

While Gid and Akira's conversation was taking place, there was a stir throughout the galaxy. Gid had not waited to finish his conversation with Akira and just after Akira passed the test he had imposed on him, he informed the entire galaxy of the news: Princess Lala had found a fiancé, specifically a human known as Akira Sato. Why didn't he wait to see Akira's reaction when he mentioned that assassins will try to kill him? It's easy, it was intuition. And some may ask: Just because of that? Well, the answer is: yes, just for that.

Anyway, the news spread through the galaxy like a lethal virus and soon, all the planets that were part of King Deviluke's kingdom knew the name and appearance of the earthling Akira Sato. How is it possible that the king had a photo of Akira if he did not speak to him until now? Easy, it's all thanks to Zastin. It's not that Zastin had a camera hidden in his armor, but that he has a program on his starship that can generate images with just a description, i.e., an AI, so after describing Akira down to the last detail, the image was generated perfectly and the face that the AI generated was identical to that of the original Akira, an image that was sent to Gid immediately.

Many will ask: How can news spread so quickly throughout a galaxy? The answer is much simpler than you think, that's thanks to the internet and yes, there was also the internet on other planets, only that was not precisely its name, but... What does the name matter? We will call it "internet" to have a better understanding of its uses.

As I was saying, the news spread like foam all over the internet and hundreds of newscasts released the news that was currently causing a stir throughout the galaxy: The King of the Galaxy had found a heir and that heir was a simple earthling from a planet technologically inferior to those of most!

Upon seeing this news, all those nobles who had proposed to Lala earlier became so angry that they almost vomited blood from their mouths. How could the king choose a crude and primitive earthling as his heir when there are so many powerful people throughout the galaxy? The pride of these nobles had been wounded, and they sent countless letters of grievances to King Deviluke with the intention of changing his mind. Of course, they don't know that those letters were thrown into space as soon as he received them.

But there was something else. Since they did not believe that the King would retract his decision (because of past experiences), they decided that it was time to act themselves. Some were afraid of the King and hesitant to commit such acts that could be considered treason, but others, the most cruel and greedy in the galaxy, did not hesitate to take action. However, despite their inhumane behaviors, none of them were stupid, otherwise, reaching their position would have been impossible, so they decided to wait for others to do the dirty work for them. Why get your hands dirty when others could get them dirty for you? That was the thinking of the vast majority, but not of all.
