Serena
I dipped my legs into the cold pool water as I waited for Becky's return. My relationship and her had blossomed from my personal maid to something more than friendship. Maybe sisters.
I smiled at the thought of her being my sister. She was all one could ask for in a sister, she was kind, gentle, lovely, name it.
A huge smile broke out on my face when I sighted her coming towards me. In her hands was a tray with what looked like apple juice in two glasses.
"Sorry I was late, your highness."
"Becky!!" I warned.
"Sorry, I wanted to say Serena." She corrected herself.
"It's fine. It will take a while." I raised my glass to my lips and took a sip.
Silence took over, the only sound was the cool evening air and the occasional sputtering sounds our feet made in the water.
"Can I ask a question?" I asked when none of us made an effort to break the stretching silence.
"Sure, go ahead." She threw a piece of cookie into her mouth.
