AT THE SAME TIME
ISABELLA'S POINT OF VIEW:
A scroll, rolled tightly and bound with a shimmering silver ribbon, materialized from thin air and dropped to the marble surface with a soft thud. We all stared at it for a moment.
"You want to grab that, or...?" Lucien gestured, clearly not interested in touching anything that just appeared out of nowhere.
Xavier glanced back at us, then stepped forward, snatching it off the pedestal. He pulled the ribbon, and the scroll snapped open with a rustle of old parchment. His eyes scanned the lines quickly, his expression growing darker by the second.
"...It's another map." He finally said, voice low.
I moved beside him, peering over his arm. The map was different from the last no clocktower this time. It showed jagged mountains to the north, the lines sketched in charcoal-black, with symbols etched into their bases.
Vanessa stepped forward, her brows furrowed.
"What does it say?"I asked.
