AT THE SAME TIME
ISABELLA'S POINT OF VIEW:
The ferry drifted silently across the shimmering surface of the river, and I couldn't help but grip Michael's arm a little tighter as the outline of crumbling rooftops and shattered stone walls came into view. The air grew colder, dense with the smell of damp moss and something metallic.
"What… is this place?" Vanessa whispered, leaning into Soren as the ferry bumped softly against the dock.
Xavier stepped off first, his eyes narrowing as he scanned the cracked cobblestones that stretched before us.
"Looks like an old trading post… but it's been abandoned for decades."Xavier said.
As if waiting for his words, the system chimed, its voice echoing unnervingly in the hollow silence.
