AT THE SAME TIME
ISABELLA'S POINT OF VIEW:
The warmth of Michael's hand in mine was everything I needed. He was here. Alive. Breathing. Eating. But that comfort lasted only a moment before the heavy sound of a door opening drew our attention. Lady Celindra, Xavier's mother, stepped into the hallway, her expression unreadable. Regal as ever, but with a visible weight behind her eyes. She looked around, pausing as her gaze swept over all of us women kneeling or sitting beside our recovering partners.
"I believe you all deserve to know what they went through." She said quietly. Her voice didn't waver, but there was something fragile in it. Vanessa was still holding Soren's hand.
"We… we passed out after the relic. I don't remember anything."Vanessa said.
Rosalie blinked.
"I just remember light, and then darkness."Rosalie said.
Celindra nodded slowly.
