Just as Alex was wrapping up, the little bell above the cafe door chimed.
She glanced up and froze.
A tall man in a sharp black suit stepped inside, scanning the room with a cool detachment. When his gaze landed on them, he strode over with long, purposeful strides, hands tucked in his pockets.
Alex sighed as Julian arrived at their table, pulled out a chair, and sat down beside her like he owned the place.
"Julian, what are you doing here?" Alex asked, trying and failing to keep the panic from her voice.
Anthony just gazed with a look of amusement.
Before either of them could get an answer, Alex heard a voice that made her face turn sour.
"Anthony, you're here too? I ran into Julian at the entrance, and we decided to come in together," Sierra said, slipping into the seat beside her brother with a too-bright smile. Her eyes flicked to Alex, and though her expression remained pleasant, the underlying malice was unmistakable. "What are you two doing here?"
