Chapter 64 - How to make Fairy Tail better?

S-Class Mage.

This was the rank that was given to a mage who had reached a level that one could only look up to and be allowed to take on more challenging and dangerous missions.

In Fairy Tail, only five mages were given such a rank.

First, the Demon, Mirajane Strauss.

Second, Titania, Erza Scarlet.

Third, Laxus Dreyar.

Fourth, Mistogan.

The fifth and the last is Ace of the Fairy Tail, Gildarts Clive.

Mirajane aside, as Kira knew well, whether it was how she would react sweetly when he kissed her neck, a mole slightly below her navel, and lastly, also her magic, the Take Over Demon Version, which gave her such a moniker.

While Kira hadn't told Mirajane, he also had a similar Take Over magic, as he had taken over the Lullaby previously. Still, it was better to keep it as a surprise, so for a spicy purpose.

As for Erza, frankly, Kira had to say, her magic was pretty expensive since she needed to collect magic weapons. Her magic power was powerful, yes, but as magic weapons weren't free, she needed to collect a lot of money, whether it was to buy those magic weapons and take care of them.

Still, her magic, which worked like a space storage, was good, Kira thought.

As for Laxus, while it was simple, it was still good magic, lightning magic. At the same time, he was also that rare Dragon Slayer Magic user, but let's keep that for the future.

As for the fourth, Mistogan, he had come earlier, which made Natsu become agitated and want to go to the 2nd floor of the headquarters of the Fairy Tail.

"What magic did Mistogan use?"

"Er... what was it?"

No one was sure since Mystogan was mysterious and rather elusive. Whenever he came to the guild, he would make everyone sleep and hide most of his features in a mask, so no one would be able to see him.

"He mastered a lot of magics, but he is good at illusion magic." Makarov looked at Kira and said, "Like you, right?"

"Instead of an illusion, I am good at scent magic."

Kira could use a pheromone, but it was better to say it with "scent," so it sounded gentler and wasn't so manipulative. After all, if he said that he could use a pheromone, it would make him appear like a dangerous, manipulative guy who could seduce any woman.

While it wasn't wrong, he wasn't such a dangerous guy, okay?

Still, when Kira thought of Mystogan, he had to say this guy was pretty amazing, and at the same time, when he thought of this person, he realized that magic power wasn't the absolute, and one could become powerful in many ways, even though one didn't have a magic power.

Unlike the others, Kira knew Mystogan's origin, and because of that, Kira was amazed by this person, who could become one of the most powerful mages on the Fairy Tail despite his limitation.

"What about the last one? His name is Gildarts, right?"

When Kira said that name, he noticed that Cana's expression appeared slightly depressed.

"It's a secret." Makarov smiled and said, "You will know what kind of magic that guy is using. Just wait."

"Okay." Kira had more or less mastered most of the magics of the members of the Fairy Tail, and frankly, except for the Dragon Slayer Magic that needed a dragon attribute, he could use them well, but if he had to say, he wasn't a fan of this type of a magic that was frontal and needed him to get close.

Instead, Kira loved simple magic that could be used to defeat them without the need for him to appear or get close to his opponents.

Erza's other magic, telekinesis, was a good magic, and Kira had been trying to use it as it was simple, yet had a lot of potential.

Still, with all of that, Kira decided to leave, especially when he couldn't find Elfman around.

Did Elfman try to avoid him?

Kira couldn't help but think so, especially when he knew that he had taken Mirajane, Elfman's older sister, and his only precious family. He knew that as a man, he couldn't be considered a good one, yet as Mirajane had given him her everything, he would try to become one that suited her; at least, he wouldn't waste the feeling that she felt toward him and treasure her.

As for the others, Kira had made his choices, so while it was cruel, he felt that this was a proper way.

Yet, when he was about to leave, Makarov stopped him. "Wait! Wait! I want to talk with you for a bit, Kira!"

"What's wrong, Master?"

"Please teach me how to manage money!"

"..." Kira.

Why did Makarov make such a request?

First, it was because for the first time, Fairy Tail had so much money!

Usually, the guild's money was in a dire situation, especially when Makarov had to pay for the damages caused by the guild members, especially those with main members, such as Natsu or Erza.

While the rest were quite reliable, many of them were quite unreliable, and as a guild master, and probably, like everyone's parent too, Makarov took care of them.

However, due to Kira, who could handle everything smoothly and even caused many people to give money to the guild, when a critical time happened, they would become a priority to be saved, and they had quite a sum of money.

"So, we have become a security company now?"

"Security company?"

"It's like a mercenary who is hired."

"Oh!" Makarov was surprised, then nodded. "That seems to be the case."

"I don't think that's a bad direction. If you follow this path, then all of the members can have a stable income."

Instead of taking one quest after another, Kira felt that it was better for Fairy Tail to work like a security company that offered its services like many modern security companies in his previous life.

Not only could one have a secure income, as those who hired them or subscribed to their services would have to pay them monthly; this job also wasn't tiring, as they had only needed to patrol, let those who paid their service to put the flag or symbol of the Fairy Tail to warn others, and fight when the crisis happened.

In simple terms, it was like the protection money usually taken by a criminal syndicate or a gang, but in a formal and gentle manner.

Yet, this wasn't bad, Kira thought, since being protected by Fairy Tail meant a lot of things, especially when, at this time, many bad people, who were lazy to work, often forced those honest to pay them forcefully. Whether it was the security guards and many others who were too lazy to handle them, and those bad people didn't feel afraid of those security guards and many others, especially when they had their own backings, but if the Fairy Tail came out, could they deal with these problems just by paying sum of money monthly, wasn't that good?

As Makarov heard Kira's explanation on how they could get a stable income by letting people hire, or use their flags or symbols for protection, his eyes shone brightly.

The income of the guild came from the percentage of the quest that was taken by members of the guild.

However, if they could establish a monthly income just patrolling or beating up bad people, then why not, right?

If it were before, Makarov might have hesitated to start this service, but as he had accepted the money from the railway company to protect and put their company as a priority, why couldn't he be bolder and expand this service to even an entire country?

Well, an entire country might be a little too much since the number of mages in the Fairy Tail was just so-so, but if it were Magnolia Town, it should be okay, right?

"Still, this business is complicated since you need a relationship with a politician, noble, or those who were influential in the cities, but with our power, I think no one can refuse."

"...what are we, then? Do you want to turn this guild into a military organization?"

"Are we not?"

"We're not!" Makarov refuted, then, when he thought that all they did was mostly fighting, he fell into silence for a moment, and said unsurely, "We're not, right?"

"Don't ask me, but frankly, this is a simple job and no one will refuse easy money."

Once again, all they did was just to lend those who paid for their security service a flag or sticker, then beat up those who tried to harm those who had paid for their service.

Even the weakest member of Fairy Tail was better than most mages on the continent, so why should they hesitate?

After all, the people they fought were probably just normal, bad people, and even if some of them were members of the Dark Mage, they were just small fry.

Moreover, this business would definitely succeed because those people would pay for their service first, and no matter what the world was, the most successful business was the one that could collect its money first!

Still, probably, Makarov and Kira loved this type of conversation so much that they talked quite so long, which made the rest speechless as they didn't really understand the nature of their conversation, but for one thing, they understood that the two of them wished to make this guild better.

Regardless, while money was important, a guild wasn't only for money; without money, it was impossible to live, too, so everything had to be in balance.

As a member of the Fairy Tail, of course, Kira wanted to make this guild stronger since the stronger it was, the better it was.

"So, with all of the money that we have collected, what should we do?" Makarov asked.

Returning to the previous topic of conversation, if they had money, what would they do?

"Let's save it first, so you won't be bald or stressed when a city or two is destroyed when someone goes on the quest."

"....." Makarov.

Kira had many ideas on how to use the money collected by the Fairy Tail, but he felt that it was better to talk about it later, especially when he was still busy, and he also needed to meet with Elfman and go with Mirajane to visit her other sibling.

Yes, this was the case, but on the next day, Erza stopped before him and said, "Kira, help me to get Natsu!"

"Hmmm?"
