Chapter 163 - chapter 162

Jin stepped forward and walked up to Hou, pushing Lan Qiang back a little,

"Let me help you experiment."

Hou thought for a moment and then nodded,

"Okay, I guess this'll be our introduction to our fighting ability a little? As you can see it can be dangerous, so activate whatever defence you need now"

Jin squinted her eyes, maintaining eye contact and punched down. As her fist punched the air, blood shot out of her wrists and turned into large blades. Her blood was a bright red and didn't become crystalline, but in a liquid state it still kept it's blade like form.

She then held he hands up and readied her stance, thinking to herself,

"I swear I felt a resonance in my blood, is he tapping into the blood Dao with whatever artifact or technique he's using? What kind of family does he come from?"

Hou saw this and spoke to Yue in his mind. He did this and found what he was to test next from the evolved Bloodbane ring, now Bloodbane Dragon.

"I'm ready, I'll start now if that fine."

Jin nodded and Hou closed his eyes. He took a breath and started, first he used normal hand-to-hand combat. Using the dragon as a shield and to enhance his attacks with it's rigidity.

Then as Jin blocked them easily and started a counter attack, Hou began the experiments. He launched a jab towards Jin's stomach and as she twisted to avoid it, he activated his experiment.

The dragon lurched out of Hou's skin partially and acted as a whip which cut her skin barely. Hou jumped back and Jin wiped her cut,

"Pretty good..." But internally she was thinking to herself, again when Hou actively used the Bloodbane Dragon it caused a resonance she could feel.

She launched forward and the two exchanged many blows, Hou getting used to using the whip attack and Jin getting used to dodging it. One time, she even used it as an advantage to herself.

As Hou let out the dragon, she covered her hand to protect it and caught it. Then she easily pulled Hou in and kicked him in the stomach.

He was pushed back and wretched up some phlegm,

"Didn't think of that, thanks. Lemme try something new."

Jin nodded and realised she had a smile. She wasn't expecting to, but Hou was quite fun to spar with even if she was holding back majorly. And each time he activated the Bloodbane Dragon she gained some more feelings about it.

Hou held out his hand and focused on his willpower, his mental energy. He began to fill the dragon with his will and then it shot out!

It burst from Hou's skin and turned into a darker more black shade of red, having absorbed lots of blood. Hou was left with an open wound with black blood with multicoloured specks.

Though, this was nothing to him, he trusted the effect of the Celestial Law Amplifying Physique and his quasi-Nascent Soul's healing laws to heal it quickly.

The quasi-Nascent Soul started to pulse and Hou felt dizzy. It began to not just expend the laws but fully integrated them into reality themselves, patching up Hou's hand in an instant; only amplified by the Celestial Law Amplifying Physique.

At the same time the dark Bloodbane Dragon flew into the air towards Jin. Hou didn't just let it do everything, at the same time he moved forward.

Using his will in the Bloodbane Dragon he started to control it, flying through the air. As he did, he felt it used up the blood it absorbed from him and his willpower.

He split his attention controlling both his body and the dragon, as a result his reaction speed lowered slightly. He could have told Yue to take control over his body, but this was just a spar.

He moved in and Jin smiled. She first blocked the dragons first attack, smacking it with her blood blades. However, at the point of contact, the dragon absorbed her blood to fuel itself before flying back.

At the same time she blocked and countered Hou's punches. She started to enjoy herself more so and decided it was time to use some abilities. She punched the air again and the blood blades around her wrist shot out.

They became two slithering snakes in the air which tangled with the Bloodbane Dragon. At the same time, she fought with Hou hand-to-hand.

This went on for a while, each extending blows. Parries and blocks, attacking and defending. Each got many cuts and bruises, but each too healed quickly.

At one point, the Bloodbane Dragon and blood snakes went in-between Hou and Jin, causing them to have to fight while dodging the flying 'creatures'.

Then after a while of them going head-to-head, Hou jumped back and held up his hands,

"One final attack, get ready"

Jin smiled and said,

"Bring it on"

And so Hou stopped focusing on fighting Jin, who saw this and didn't attack him, and instead focused on controlling the Bloodbane Dragon. It had little will left and so Hou had two ideas,

"I could try to use a dimensional blood slash from afar...or attempt a possession. The quasi-Nascent Soul should be able to move into the dragon and control it, Yue could keep control over my body: I'm not bonded with my body... To hell with it, I'll try possession!"

And so Hou jumped out of his body, Yue took over. He was a separate soul/consciousness and was not connected to the body he inhibited in any restrictive way.

He flew out and into the Bloodbane Dragon, to which his vision shifted. It went from an ethereal scene of the material and astral world combined into a material perspective.

He possessed the Bloodbane Dragon and felt peculiar. His body was relatively 'normal' before, but now he was controlling something that had almost all blood laws, even the blood Dao, and little other laws.

It felt like a foreign concept when he tried to move, moving through the air without flight laws in the body.
