Jonathan and William walked into the mansion, Bretum, and the maids standing in a solemn line to receive them. There was a sense of dignity that clung thick. William spared no one a second look. He gripped Jonathan's wrist firmly and pulled him through the marble halls, his grip unyielding and uncompromising.
The door slammed closed behind them. William pushed Jonathan onto the bed—hard. His eyes blazed with something impenetrable.
"Stay there," William ordered, his tone low, harsh. His mood was clearly out of line.
Jonathan slowly came to a sitting position, confused and a bit rattled. William disappeared into the bathroom. The shower could be heard running in the quiet room.
