Chapter 54 - 54. No One

Time passed, and I could feel the day shifting into evening—even if, down here, there was no way to see the sun setting.

But no footsteps approached. No door opened. No signs of Sylas or Kaelith returning.

The bedroom door remained tightly locked. Even the shards of the vase from this morning were still scattered across the floor—no servants came to clean it. As if they intentionally left the mess, refusing to let anyone enter my room for fear that I might escape again.

It truly felt like a prison.

I sat cross-legged on the bed. I had finished what was left of my breakfast, unwilling to starve again like before. But my mind was restless.

To distract myself, I started focusing inward.

Slowly, I regulated my breathing, trying to control and gather mana.

Just as Ezric had always taught me. I knew I could do it again.

But this time… it felt harder but I can do it.
