The last light of the Cleanshard still shimmered faintly in the air as everything slowly quieted. The four of us stood there in silence, absorbing the rare moment of triumph. But like all things in this world, every meeting must end in parting.
Valther patted Ezric's shoulder warmly, then turned to me. "Take care of yourself, Lana. And if you need guidance to understand your magic... you know where to find me."
I nodded. "Thank you, Master."
Lucen stepped forward, looking at Valther with an unusual respect. "If you ever need help in the future, don't hesitate to call me. Even if it requires blood or shadow."
Valther chuckled softly, his gaze gentle. "Nice to see a demon who knows how to show appreciation."
After our farewells and a quick hug from Ezric—which made Valther stiffen like he'd just been hugged by a stray cat—we turned and left. Our steps headed south, toward Abyssal Hollow.
