"Listen, this isn't just The Bond to seal a marriage between the bride and grooms," Valther repeated, his voice growing heavier. "The three of you… are not merely bound by a magical bond. You are tied by fate."

"Fate?"
"Fate," Valther said firmly. "A fate-bond of three souls. One life. One death. Three destinies that cannot be separated."
Valther lifted my hand slightly. The light still flickered on my palm—red, gold, and black. "Red belongs to Sylas. Gold is yours. And black… belongs to Kaelith. The three of you are the keys to this bond."
He looked at all of us.
"If one of you dies—then all three of you will die."
The room fell completely silent. My heart skipped a beat.
"What?" Ezric hissed. "You mean… if one of them is killed… Lana dies too?"
Valther nodded. "Not just killed. Even if one of you tries to sever the magic of The Bond, all of you will die as well."
