The figure's eyes locked onto Anna's, and she felt a chill run down her spine. She knew that look, that intensity. It was the same person who had been chasing her.
Sarah's grip on Anna's arm tightened. "We need to get out of here," she whispered.
But it was too late. The figure had already seen them, and he was moving towards the building. Anna could feel her heart racing with fear.
Sarah pulled Anna away from the window, and they moved swiftly through the corridors. They reached the back door, and Sarah pushed it open.
They slipped outside, finding themselves in a narrow alleyway. The figure was hot on their heels, and Anna could hear his footsteps echoing off the walls.
As they ran, the alleyway seemed to stretch on forever. Anna's lungs were burning, but she knew she couldn't stop.
Sarah was pulling her along, her grip on Anna's arm like a vice. They burst out of the alleyway, into a crowded street.
