Lauren stood still, the tension visible in the way she held herself, but she didn't react. Adonis, however, clenched his fists.
"Lauren, we can end their lies right here. Right now," he muttered under his breath.
"No." Lauren forced a smile, shaking her head. "That would only make us look like the bitter couple. Let's not engage."
Heather squinted her eyes slightly. Victim-playinv at its finest.
Natalie smirked. "Honestly, it's a shame. But I'm just glad Caius and Heather are the happy ones in the end."
Caius turned toward the comment but said nothing.
"Caius, can't you be responsible for once?" Adonis's voice cut through the laughter. "You're just standing here, listening to people mock the woman you once loved?"
Caius exhaled, his gaze was steady. "There's only one woman I love. And that's my wife."
