But Shantel didn't acknowledge them. Her gaze was solely for Richard.
"What do you want me to do, sweetheart? All you have to do is say the word and it will be done," Richard rasped.
"I don't want Logan Whitmore free," she said softly, trailing a single nail down to the center of his chest, pausing there. "He offended my man… and I don't take kindly to anyone who does that. I don't stand with my man's enemies."
Richard's throat bobbed as he swallowed and for the first time in the entire performance, he felt something crack inside him.
She called him 'her man!' That was way more rewarding than anything he could have asked for. Even her fingers on his body were fire against his skin. Not to mention the way her voice sounded as if it was laced with dangerous passion, and the way she was looking at him—he could give anything for that gaze— it was as if he was the only one in her eyes and temptingly, her life.
