Lesley's black eyes stayed fixed on Alvin.
But Alvin froze in shock.
"She's alive?"
Something about her felt… wrong.
"What happened to her…?"
Confusion swirled in his mind.
"If she sensed my mana signature… then that means she knows I'm Whisper."
"Damn. What should I do?"
He slowly raised both hands. "Hey… are you okay?"
Lesley glanced down at her hands, dark runes still glowing faintly, then looked back up at him.
And vanished.
Alvin's eyes widened.
His instincts screamed.
The same move… just like Alvida's. An attack aimed at my back.
But this time, he didn't try to block.
He twisted and leapt aside, barely dodging the strike.
"Shadow Step…?"
Alvin gritted his teeth.
"I've studied shadow techniques, but I could never use them. She doesn't even have the shadow element, so how the hell—"
His thoughts spun faster.
The runes. The eyes. The unnatural silence.
And then, drawing from everything he'd learned from Alvida…
Piece by piece… it's all fitting together.
