Melanie.
How can something so bad, taste so good? His kiss is gentle. Hesitant. Soft nibbles that are filled with need. I kiss him back. My body shakes from fear of being caught. My body shakes from effect of his kiss.
"I would have died if anything happened to you…" His whispers, tickle my senses.
He smells of mint and coffee and some brandy. "Did your husband inform you that I called to ask of you?"
At the mention of my husband, my senses come alive. I pull away from Regan, staring into his eyes. My scattered wits coming to focus. The promise I made to Malachi that I would never cheat again, flashes in my head. I dart my eyes about, looking for Lucinda. I don't see her.
Gradually, I put some respectable distance. Regan doesn't seem pleased by that. But who cares. I can hear Lucinda's heels echoing somewhere to my left. The thought of being caught by her earlier, roots me to the spot I stand. How can I be so careless?
"I need to see you." Regan demands.
