Chapter 86: Dark Demon Has a Slight Fondness for Grilled Squid

"Yawn~"

On the Dress-Up Bridge, Virt Gold and Robert Broheim entered Traveler Street, yawning. The two had battled until dawn last night and barely managed to get up at nine in the morning. Without going to the cafeteria for breakfast, they came straight to Traveler Street.

During the four days after Monday, they had tried their best to attend classes and finally saved up enough credits each, thinking of picking out a costume for the masquerade ball over the weekend.

Virt Gold actually already had a Kamen Rider costume. But firstly, that Kamen Rider costume was so crudely made that he now felt he had been tricked by that senior, Leon. Secondly, he had once worn the Kamen Rider costume during an encounter with that perverted gentleman. To avoid revealing his identity, he thought of buying another, better-looking one.

"I heard that the three princesses will join the ball incognito. Whoever gains the favor of any princess can dance with her when the clock strikes twelve?" Robert Broheim babbled casually, as if just trying to make conversation.

Virt Gold narrowed his eyes: "Not interested."

Robert Broheim added: "Do you know about the Halloween ghost-catching event?"

Virt Gold perked up: "Of course, I know! That's the best opportunity to earn a lot of credits! With credits, you have everything!"

Robert Broheim smiled mysteriously: "Then you definitely don't know who the third-year champion was last year?"

Virt Gold paused: "Why specifically mention the third year... wait, you don't mean to say that last year's third-year champion was Senior Pandora, do you?"

Robert Broheim said proudly: "That's right. Her name is clearly displayed in the academy's prize showroom! Well, motivated now?"

Virt Gold suddenly stopped: "Robert."

Robert Broheim: "Hmm?"

Virt Gold: "This year's first-year champion will be ours!"

Then, Virt Gold, full of spirit, entered the reputable Velvet Tailor Shop to make himself more dashing.

A few minutes later, they fled in disarray.

"Isn't this too expensive?"

"If we use all our credits, what will we use to buy materials to strengthen ourselves?"

"How about we buy it next weekend?"

"Perhaps that's a good idea."

"I'm a little hungry, Virt."

"Let's go find something to eat."

So, Virt Gold and Robert Broheim, looking dejected, headed towards the street lined with restaurants.

Inadvertently, the two passed by the Waltz music restaurant and saw, through a layer of glass, Dark Demon's group of three, as well as the high-class ice cream in front of Diana Greatbear and Rose Flotly.

"Gulp~"

Virt Gold swallowed his saliva and whispered, "Robert, how many credits was that chocolate strawberry melon triple-layer cream top ice cream?"

Robert Broheim: "I think it was 19 cred... "

Virt Gold: "That's almost two classes worth!"

Robert Broheim: "Slurp~"

Virt Gold: "Wait a little longer, wait a little longer. After Halloween, we'll definitely be able to afford it."

Robert Broheim: "Actually, we can afford it now."

Virt Gold: "Don't joke around. This time's credits, we need to use them to buy materials."

Robert Broheim: "Actually, I have a compromise."

Virt Gold: "Hmm?"

Leaning against the maple tree, pretending to read a newspaper, Scott inadvertently glanced at them, then a cold smile appeared. Among these two, one was the Hero's son, and the other... was someone he had tied up before.

"So, he's the Hero's son's follower? I originally thought he was someone like me with nothing, so I showed some mercy that night. If I had known earlier..."

Dark Demon ate his ice cream in small bites. He was in a pretty good mood today. Although it was slightly different from his planned itinerary, he had at least gained something.

Diana Greatbear and Rose Flotly ate ice cream while laughing and playing, gradually getting cream on the corners of their mouths.

Virt Gold and Robert Broheim pushed open the door and ordered a large 19-credit ice cream and two spoons at the counter. Dark Demon was slightly surprised to see them appear but didn't pay much attention.

"Dark Demon, let's team up for the Halloween event!"

Diana Greatbear and Rose Flotly also started talking about the masquerade ball activities.

Dark Demon asked doubtfully, "Can you team up for that event?"

"Of course!" Diana Greatbear stuck out her pink tongue to lick the white cream from the corner of her mouth and whispered, "I heard that senior students often do this. Teaming up can increase the efficiency of catching 'ghosts,' and during the final award evaluation, the points obtained can be pooled onto one person to compete for the grade championship!"

Dark Demon was stunned: "Isn't that cheating?"

Diana Greatbear was puzzled: "But everyone does it!"

Dark Demon showed a gentle smile: "Then, do you know how many grade champions were obtained this way?"

Diana Greatbear poked her dimple with the spoon handle and thought for a long time before saying, "It seems like none."

Dark Demon: "Then that's right." He lowered his head, took a bite of ice cream, and then said, "This masquerade ball can actually be seen as a trial, just right for testing the results of the past two months since school started. If I team up with you, your trial effect will be greatly reduced."

Diana Greatbear thought for a moment and smiled: "I'll listen to you!"

Around ten-thirty.

Dark Demon bid farewell to Diana Greatbear and Rose Flotly under Diana's reluctant gaze, then passed by the Hero's son duo and left the Waltz music restaurant. He was quite interested in the ghost-catching event on Halloween Eve, but mainly for the credits. As for the grade championship, whoever wanted it could take it.

A few minutes later.

He left the food street lined with restaurants and turned into an old, sparsely populated street. Not every area in Traveler Street was popular; there were always some unpopular shops with no customers. Shopkeepers also needed to do business; if no one came for a long time, they would inevitably have to close down.

He had been here before when he wasn't familiar with the area, but this was the first time he had come so proactively. But well, everyone has a first time.

Turning into the back of an unmanned old shop, Dark Demon stopped, turned around, and silently counted three, two, one in his mind. Then, a person wearing a squid costume walked out from behind the wall.

Dark Demon carefully observed this person and asked curiously, "So you followed me all this way because I like to eat squid?"

Scott's voice, filtered by the costume, became hoarse: "Damn it, it's not squid, it's cuttlefish!"

Dark Demon shook his head: "We're all seafood, who's worse than whom? Let's be direct, why were you following me?"

Scott: "I wasn't following you."

Dark Demon: "?"

Scott: "I'm just a cuttlefish that happened to be passing by."

Dark Demon: "???"

Scott: "So, you're the one collecting love divination cards?"
