Chapter 87 - Chapter 87: Dark Demon is Just a Flower Card Collector

Chapter 87: Dark Demon is Just a Flower Card Collector

"Are you talking about Flower cards?"

Dark Demon reached down, and a full deck of Flower cards appeared in his hand. A full 18 Flower cards, fanned out like a folding fan with a flick of his thumb. Each type of Flower card had a different design; they were excellent collectibles.

Dark Demon listed them like family treasures: "The bright red Camellia, represents the most humble love; the devastatingly beautiful Poppy, even if it burns its own life, swears never to leave; the Spider Lily at the end of the other shore, guards a sad love that will never meet, at the unseen end. The beauty of death in that desperate situation is truly poignant... And my favorite, the pure white Datura, threads of love stretching for miles, seeing the flower is like seeing the person."

Scott listened with a bewildered expression. Although the cuttlefish costume couldn't show detailed expressions, his astonishment was evident from the fact that he hadn't moved for a long time.

This person, how much research has he done on Flower cards?

We are clearly the creators of the Flower cards!

Why don't I understand anything he's saying?

And that pure white Datura, why does it look so familiar?

Isn't that the one I stuffed into someone's door crack back then?

Scott had originally come with the intention of calling him to account.

Among the last batch of Flower cards distributed last week, a large portion had not been activated. This directly led to a significant decrease in the Cult's efficiency in collecting "thoughts," making it impossible to repair the cracked goddess statue more quickly. The Cult thus realized that someone was collecting Flower cards in large quantities. Combined with the inexplicable appearance of cracks on the goddess statue, they equated the "Flower card collector" with the "statue destroyer."

Scott was just a pawn sent to investigate. The purpose was investigation, the mission was investigation. Once it was confirmed that "Flower card collector = statue destroyer," then the Cult, for the sake of the goddess, would impose upon him sanctions beyond what was necessary!

But Scott never expected—how clumsy his disguise was (Part Eight).

...

Speaking of which, who would lean against a tree trunk on the street reading a newspaper? Wouldn't it be better to spend a little money and sit in a restaurant to monitor? Dark Demon had discovered this tracker not long after sitting down in the restaurant; he just deliberately hadn't said anything.

Anyway, if he had been sensible enough to leave, Dark Demon would have pretended not to see him. But since he didn't leave, he had to get some information out of him.

As a result, before he even started asking anything, the other party exposed everything with a single sentence!

Dark Demon almost immediately figured out the cause and effect. He even guessed that this was the cuttlefish from the Seafood Cult, the one who had transformed Robert Broheim into a woman. And the reason this cuttlefish had come looking for him was simply that his Flower card collecting was too blatant. But there was originally no need to be discreet, was there? He was just a simple Flower card collecting enthusiast!

...

Dark Demon's mind was as clear as a mirror. His praise and enthusiasm for Flower cards came from the heart, without any flaws. Scott indeed sensed that fervor and immediately believed his act.

Up to this point, Scott could actually have gone back and reported. But ever since joining the Cult, certain thoughts within him had become increasingly difficult to suppress.

→He wanted to represent the goddess and deliver judgment upon this heretic!

Dark Demon casually said, "Excuse me, did you make these Flower cards? If possible, I'd like to collect some non-repeating designs."

Scott's mouth twitched, and without further ado: "Magic Summon... Mmph!"

"Ohohohoho!"

The sudden excruciating pain in his buttocks, along with the shrill laughter from behind, instantly shrouded Scott's mind in gloom. But in the next moment, his world fell completely silent. Whether it was the shrill laughter, the rustling of leaves, or even the seemingly concerned inquiry from the first-year Nobles' House student before him, nothing could reach his ears anymore.

He猛地张嘴怒斥:"" (He opened his mouth wide to shout angrily: "")

But still, no sound could be produced. He didn't know if he couldn't make a sound, or if he made a sound but simply couldn't hear it. This was even completely different from Professor Sarah Silf's commonly used [Silence Card]. The [Silence Card] at least wouldn't seal off hearing!

Scott, turning around with difficulty and endless panic, finally saw the attackers behind him—Virt Gold and Robert Broheim!

"It's him, it's him, it's definitely him! I remember now, it's him! I saw that little bit of octopus tentacle before I was knocked out!"

"It's squid, Robert."

Virt Gold, with a helpless expression, grabbed Robert Broheim's arm to prevent him from rushing forward and smashing Scott's head out of excessive anger.

The DemiDevimon hiding on the eaves had already closed its mouth. It had just injected the [Silencing Potion] into its syringe, then used [Small Dart] to shoot it out, delivering a fatal blow to Scott's buttock. The syringe, having served its purpose, disappeared into specks of light after hitting the target.

Scott didn't see the syringe; he only saw Virt Gold and Robert Broheim who had just arrived at the scene.

Virt Gold had a natural, keen intuition and had already sensed Scott's unusual gaze back in the Waltz music restaurant. However, it was only after finishing the expensive ice cream with Robert Broheim that he increasingly felt something was wrong and followed Scott's disappearing direction to investigate.

Thus, this small place simultaneously gathered four people from three different factions.

Dark Demon calmly watched the sudden appearance of Virt Gold and Robert Broheim, not thinking it was much of a coincidence. After all, DemiDevimon had long been趴on the roof and seen their arrival.

Therefore, this was merely a predetermined certainty.

Just like although Virt Gold grabbed Robert Broheim's right hand, he couldn't grab his left hand at the same time.

"In the name of Robert Broheim, come forth, Half-Mechanized Ratman!"

Robert Broheim summoned the magic spirit he had refined in magic class. It was an ugly rat standing upright on two legs, as tall as a human. A remnant of the extinct Skaven Ratmen Empire. Mechanical on the left, flesh on the right, a Half-Mechanized Ratman holding an acid sprayer!

"Robert, don't!"

Seeing the Half-Mechanized Ratman summoned by Robert Broheim aiming its sprayer at the squid's face, Virt Gold cried out in alarm. If they allowed the Ratman to spray acid on Scott's face, putting aside other consequences, they would definitely be punished, even expelled! St. Marian Academy explicitly prohibited fighting and brawling; all disputes were advocated to be resolved through duels.

Last time, because of the duel with Dark Demon, he had specifically crammed the relevant school rules. The punishment for ordinary fighting and brawling wasn't severe, at most a deduction of some credits. But if it caused difficult-to-heal injuries...

However, the Half-Mechanized Ratman's acid had already corroded Scott's cuttlefish costume.

Just as Robert Broheim wanted to go further.

Scott's lips suddenly moved rapidly.

Silent casting!

A dark green, three-eyed cuttlefish materialized and pounced on the Half-Mechanized Ratman. The two magic spirits became entangled in a fight.

Robert Broheim forcefully shook off Virt Gold, clenched his fist, and rushed forward, punching Scott hard in the mouth!

"Bang!"

"...!"
