At this moment, Jessica was heading towards Aunt May's house.
To be honest, she wasn't incapable of cooking, but how many people actually enjoy cooking? Moreover, the meals Jessica prepared were no match for Aunt May's cooking.
However, as Jessica was walking down the street, suddenly her spider-sense triggered. She quickly flipped backward, rolling twice.
A beam of light struck the very spot where she had been standing moments ago.
This surprised Jessica greatly. Though the path she was walking wasn't particularly bustling, it was certainly not an isolated route either.
For these people to dare attack her in such a place was unbelievable. It was as if they had no regard for the SHIELD agents stationed in New York.
Jessica looked up and saw a robot-like figure entirely clad in black, with a faint red glow emanating from its helmet.
To the average person, this would seem like some kind of new battle armor Tony Stark had developed, but Jessica's instincts told her that this wasn't something Iron Man would have created.
There was no sign of the iconic arc reactor on its chest.
"Attacking me in broad daylight? Do you think the Ultimate Avengers are all blind?"
Jessica slowly prepared for battle, her eyes fixed on the black robot before her.
"They have no interest in dealing with you right now."
As the voice spoke, Jessica had already moved, leaping onto a nearby building.
The black robot remained silent, and instead, a woman covered in fur landed in the spot where the robot had been.
The sight of the fur immediately reminded Jessica of a tiger.
But now, the tiger's fur was on a human body, and this woman's destructive power seemed just as formidable.
When the tiger-woman saw Jessica jump onto the building, she only flashed a smile. The next moment, she propelled herself from the ground and lunged straight at Jessica.
Jessica dodged the attack, but she was shocked by the strength and destructive force the woman displayed—she had managed to sink her fingers deep into the wall.
"The strongest animal in this world is not a spider."
The tiger-woman spoke as she used her strength to chase after Jessica, climbing the wall to catch up.
"Shit!!"
Jessica had no choice but to quickly evade, but the black robot wasn't just standing idly by.
In the next moment, another beam attack sealed off Jessica's escape route and even pierced through the building's wall.
With the black robot blocking her way in front and the tiger-woman looming behind, Jessica had no choice but to decide which of them to fight. Clearly, the tiger-woman seemed more manageable than the all-black robot.
"Let's see about that!"
Jessica charged at the tiger-woman. The clash of their strength erupted at that moment, their full power on display.
However, the strength granted to Jessica by the spider abilities allowed her to barely overpower the tiger-woman.
Jessica quickly pinned the woman down and, with a swift motion, hurled the fur-covered woman toward the black robot.
"Here you go."
The black robot made no attempt to catch the tiger-woman. Instead, it dodged her body and immediately activated its thrusters, charging toward Jessica.
"Seems like your relationship isn't that great after all."
Seeing the black robot charging at her, Jessica made the decision to meet it head-on.
At the same time, she shot out webs, blinding the black robot's head.
She landed a heavy kick to the robot's chest, but the impact only left a footprint and did nothing to impede its movement.
The force of the counterattack sent Jessica flying backward.
"Really tough, huh?"
The black robot clearly wasn't interested in talking. Its primary objective now was to capture Jessica.
Sometimes, raw superhuman strength just couldn't compete with mechanical acceleration.
In an instant, the black robot overtook Jessica.
It blocked her path, drawing a stun baton crackling with electricity and swung it at her.
Though Jessica easily dodged this attack, her initial plan had failed. Now, she was trapped, surrounded by two superhumans that had appeared out of nowhere.
At that moment, the tiger-woman slowly got back up, shaking her head.
It was clear she was displeased about being thrown by Jessica. Her eyes were filled with a cruel intensity, and all she wanted now was to tear Jessica apart.
"This is really bad."
Jessica immediately pressed a special button on her web-shooter.
From the web-shooter, red symbiotic metal began to spread, completely encasing Jessica's body.
At the same time, the symbiotic metal sent a distress signal to the Batcave.
"Finish her quickly. She's already sent out a distress signal, but it wasn't to SHIELD. It's likely for that bat," the black robot remarked, clearly aware of the distress signal Jessica had sent.
The tiger-woman didn't care about what kind of signal Jessica had sent out. All she cared about now was one thing: tearing the damn spider apart.
"Looks like you two are having some differences."
Jessica never doubted that her boss would come to rescue her. Now, her goal was simply to stall for time, and clearly, the tension between the two was just what she needed.
The black robot, seeing that the tiger-woman was ignoring its orders, said nothing more.
It charged straight at her, the stun baton landing a powerful blow on the tiger-woman's back.
A massive electrical current surged through her, causing her to smoke and crash to the ground.
This only made the tiger-woman even more enraged, but she knew that if she didn't follow the black robot's lead, she would likely face even more intense electrical shocks.
Shifting her hatred from the black robot to Jessica, the tiger-woman now saw the spider as the true source of her frustration.
But when she tried to find Jessica, the spider was nowhere to be seen.
"Looks like our prey got away." The tiger-woman gritted her teeth, her hatred radiating so strongly that even those who hadn't experienced it firsthand could feel the intensity of it.
"She won't get far."
The black robot said confidently, then shot up into the sky.
Tiger Girl merely curled her lip at the black robot's confidence and said nothing.
She knew very well that the black robot had the capability. He could connect in real-time to all the surveillance cameras throughout New York City and monitor the spider's every move.
At the same time, she checked her own tracking system, which was live-streaming the black robot's location to her, along with the location of that spider, transmitted from him.
She swiftly disappeared from the scene.
The surrounding crowd had already been stunned by the sudden outbreak of this superhuman battle. They had no idea what to do, but one thing was clear—they'd better leave this to S.H.I.E.L.D.
Jessica didn't even know what to say about the ones tailing her so relentlessly. They were clinging to her trail like bloodhounds, refusing to back off even for a second.
She was certain she'd never had any conflict with these people—she hadn't even seen them before. So why were they so desperate to kill her?
It had to be said, thanks to the symbiote-enhanced armor, Jessica's movement speed had improved considerably. But the black robot was moving far faster than she had anticipated.
"You've got nowhere to run. Surrender, and maybe you'll suffer a little less."
The black robot landed in front of Jessica. The arcs of electricity crackling over his stun baton had grown larger, clearly showing he had turned its power to the maximum.
"Otherwise, wetting yourself here won't exactly make for a good image."
The black robot glanced around. Jessica had indeed run fast, and she had a very clear goal—S.H.I.E.L.D.
He had intercepted her in a busy district, where numerous residents were now filming the superhuman clash with their phones.
"Well then, thanks for looking out for my image," Jessica replied with biting sarcasm.
To the black robot, her mockery meant nothing.
His only goal was to capture Jessica. The time or effort spent didn't matter to him.
Even if it meant total social annihilation for the Spider-Woman, the black robot couldn't care less.
Jessica felt the vibration of her web shooter and instantly knew her boss had arrived.
"But I don't think you'll get to see your baton land on me."
With a smile, Jessica spoke to the black robot.
Before he could react, she had already vanished from in front of him—and the next moment, an explosion burst open his back.
"I thought you were still babysitting that little girl," Jessica teased after connecting to Bruce's communication channel.
"Actually, I still am,"
To Jessica's surprise, Gwen's voice came through the comms as well. The fact that she'd been caught talking behind someone's back made her a little awkward.
Looking at the rising fireball in the distance, Jessica asked Bruce uncertainly,
"That guy shouldn't have much fight left in him, right?"
"No. That armor of his is extremely tough. That blast probably only slowed him down."
Bruce knew full well—even though he had used one of the more powerful weapons on his Batwing, it hadn't done much damage to the black robot.
Sure enough, as the smoke cleared, the black robot emerged once again before them. His back was only slightly dented, not enough to breach the armor.
Now, the black robot locked his gaze onto Bruce's Batwing. The red glow from his eyes was unsettling.
"I've found Batman. What are our orders?" the black robot asked, refraining from attacking immediately. After all, this was outside the scope of their original mission.
Receiving the black robot's report, Ford was practically ecstatic. From the beginning, his goal in deploying these people was to destroy S.H.I.E.L.D. and eliminate Batman. He never expected such a golden opportunity to fall into his lap so quickly.
But he calmed down just as fast, knowing full well that the priority was to fulfill the mission given by that man—not to chase his personal ambitions.
He had a clear sense of what came first.
"Forget the bat for now. Get those two spiders first."
Just as Ford finished speaking, Gwen leapt down from the Batwing.
She landed lightly beside Jessica.
Gwen was no longer in her basic spider suit, but in a high-tech suit made from nanobots crafted by Bruce.
Seeing this third spider suddenly appear, both the black robot and Ford—who was watching—were momentarily speechless.
But the masked man who had been observing everything grew visibly excited. In his eyes, every spider was a perfect test subject.
"Ford, send in your entire ultimate strike team. I want all three spiders standing before me."
The man gave his order, and Ford, though reluctant, had no choice but to grit his teeth and comply.
Tiger Girl soon arrived on the scene. Seeing the dent on the black robot's back, she chuckled.
"Looks like you haven't had it easy either."
"We need to capture two spiders now." The black robot ignored her comment entirely—he only wanted to finish the mission.
"Vision and the others have wrapped up. They're on their way."
Tiger Girl had just received the update from their teammates.
The black robot said nothing more. He charged straight toward Gwen with his stun baton raised, while leaving Jessica to Tiger Girl.
"Be careful. That weapon of his is no joke, and his armor's tough as hell," Jessica warned Gwen. At the same time, she fixed her gaze on Tiger Girl, as the fur-covered fighter charged toward her.
Before Gwen and the black robot could clash, Bruce's Batwing opened fire at full force, blasting the black robot back.
"Go help Jessica handle that one. I'll take care of him,"
Bruce sat inside the Batwing, eyes locked onto the black robot with steely focus.
His finger never left the trigger.
The Batwing's firepower did pose a hindrance to the black robot, but it wasn't enough to cause serious damage.
Still, carrying out his mission under such heavy fire was out of the question.
The barrage completely locked down all his movement space.
The black knight holstered his stun baton and drew a beam saber, hurling it toward Bruce's Batwing.
