Marco nodded slowly. "They make a good couple. But Dominic needs someone who can shake up his rigid world."
Caroline turned quickly, her eyes wide. "Wow. That's the longest sentence you've ever said to me," she said, shaking her head in disbelief.
Marco turned slowly, his face calm as ever, but his eyes held a slight glint. "I could say more... if you'd stop joking around."
Caroline went quiet for a moment, then let out a soft laugh. "Touché." She folded her arms across her chest, then glanced at Marco from the corner of her eye. "But seriously, you're like a walking mystery without fear. Always near Dominic, always composed, but barely ever speak unless it's something important. People would think you're a robot disguised as a human."
Marco cast his gaze far ahead. "Choosing to be silent doesn't mean my mind isn't thinking," he said flatly. "Sometimes words only blur what I really mean."
