The man stopped just a few feet from her. "That's very brave of you, I must say," he said with a smirk.
"Now prepare to meet your end." He ran toward Olivia with a speed she could not fathom.

Olivia stumbled to the ground, avoiding his attack by an inch of luck. The silvery glint of his spear flashed before her eyes as it aimed for her chest. She quickly used her sword to block his attack.
The man pressed harder, exerting all his strength. Olivia's sword lowered to her chest, cutting through her clothes and drawing blood from her skin. The sharp pain made her realize this might really be the end for her.
She was still in the Ember ranking—how could she compare with someone at the Cataclysmic ranking? But when had she ever fought someone or a monster at her level? She was not going to die now… at least not today.
Her green eyes turned gold, her hands engulfed in flames.
