A pang of guilt twisted in my chest. Leo looked genuinely disheartened, his voice laced with quiet frustration. It stirred something in me, a heaviness I couldn't shake.
"If we had known how bad it really was," he murmured, "I wish we'd brought more."
I swallowed hard, my mind shifting to the small stockpile of medicine safely hidden inside my space ring. I couldn't risk revealing it—not out here in the open—but I also couldn't ignore their suffering.
"Wait," I said suddenly, trying to sound casual. "Actually, I did pack an extra medical box. Just in case. I think it's still in the truck."
