Leon was halfway a dead man, yet he was the only one kneeling.
The crystal white humanoid gently turned his way, tilted its head and waited as though expecting him to do something. Their eyes weren't leaving each other, like a bride clings onto the groom.
One hand dropping Sam to the floor, the monster grinned and slowly walked Leon's way.
Leon watched, a hand gripping the side of his stomach while he bent in pain, blood rushing down his feet. Why was the creature coming towards him with an expression as though it had found another worthy opponent?
But then, it dawned on him - it probably was because everyone were kneeling except him. The kneels not only were signs of defeat.... but also defeat.
'Is this why it's coming my way?' Leon asked himself. His chest pounded under his cloak, the monster grinning more and more with every steps towards him. Leon was dead silent, not helplessness or panic in his eyes, but curiousity.
