Chapter 137 - Like Wildflowers

Three days had passed. Three long, silent days, and still no sign of Artemis. Megan tried not to panic. She busied herself tending to the cottage, feeding the animals in her parent's stead — but the more she tried to carry on, the heavier the knot of worry twisted in her chest.

By the third morning, Megan found herself walking towards the cave. She was carrying a small bundle of food and clean clothes. Her eyes scanned the trees, hoping that Artemis was not really in serious danger.

What Megan didn't know was that Orion had already sensed her.

He'd been practicing, clumsily, with his new instincts — spending most of his hours trying to make sense of the chaos inside him. The wolf's senses were sharp, but using them felt like trying to move a body that wasn't quite his. Tracking scents, distinguishing sounds, testing his strength — it all left him aching and frustrated. But now, something different filled the air. Something familiar.
