Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Class 1A

Akari guided Saya to her classroom with a pounding heart and a sense of doom.

"Please behave. Please don't kill anyone. Please don't flirt with the students."

"No promises~"

They arrived at Class 1-A.

Akari opened the door—only for Saya to push her aside and burst in.

"Good morning, you little gremlins!"

The class went silent.

A few students blinked, confusion written all over their faces.

Who TF is this?

Some sat up straighter. Others instinctively reached for their notebooks as if that would somehow protect them.

Saya smiled softly as she walked straight to the teacher's chair and plopped down like a queen claiming her throne. She swung her legs up onto the desk.

"My name is Saya. Feel free to call me Sensei. I'll be your very capable, totally charming, SSS-class mythical instructor."

"Eh?" The class stared at her oddly.

Just then, Akari walked in—only to be stopped by Saya's outstretched hand.

"Well, well, well, look who's late."

Saya glanced at her wristwatch.

"8:02 a.m. on the dot," she muttered. Then, louder: "Why did you come late to my class?"

"Y-You—shameless! Absolutely shameless!!!" Akari was stunned for two seconds, then her expression darkened like a storm cloud as she glared at the smug girl in the teacher's seat.

"Am I? See this class?" Saya gestured lazily around the room. "I walked in, and she wasn't here. Only after I entered did she enter. Tsk tsk... you really disappointed me, Aka—uhm. State your name, please."

Akari's jaw dropped.

"Akari Hartville," she muttered, teeth clenched so tightly she might snap them in half. A visible vein popped on her forehead.

The students exchanged looks.

What the hell is going on?

"Miss Hartville," Saya continued with a falsely sweet tone, "I'll allow you to attend my classes—but please, next time don't be late. I've heard a rumor you went to a party yesterday and were so drunk you couldn't wake up on time this morning."

She sighed and gave Akari a look of concerned disappointment. The audacity.

Akari snapped.

"SAYA!!"

But Saya was already addressing the class again, pretending Akari didn't exist.

"Alright, gremlins, let's begin our day with something fun. I'd like each of you to introduce yourselves and show off a bit of your power. Nothing too destructive—this building does have a budget, you know."

The students hesitated.

Akari stood beside the door, steaming like a kettle, while Saya just winked at her.

She walked to her own table and sat down, her expression still angry.

The first student walked up. With slick silver hair, he gave a polite bow.

"I'm Lucien Grail. My ability is Cryomancy."

He raised his hand and summoned a small sculpture of ice in the shape of a snowflake. Truly elegant.

It hovered in midair, then shattered into sparkling dust.

"Not bad at all, ice boy. Next." Saya nodded her head as she leaned back on the chair.

Lucien went back to his seat. However, this time no one walked forward. Saya raised an eyebrow before sighing in realization.

"I see. So this situation is like when the math teacher asks any volunteers to come and solve an equation, but no one steps up. I respect that." She nodded.

"However, you're all going to do it whether you like it or not." She took out a form that was just ' coincidentally' on the table.

The form was a list of all the names of the students in Class 1A. "If I call you and you don't stand up... well, let's just say it won't end well for you."

"Now then... Vana," she muttered.

A tall, bulky girl with a massive scar across her arms stomped forward. Saya nearly choked on her spit as she stared at the girl with a stunned expression.

"Well, damn..."

"Good evening, Sensei. My ability is Stone Form." She slammed her fist into her own chest, and her skin turned into thick, granite-like armor.

Saya gave her a low whistle. "Nice. So... are you a man or a female? Sorry if I'm being rude." Vana's appearance was bulky, after all. She looked more of a man than any boy in this classroom.

Vana shook her head with a blush on her face. "I'm a girl, a-and it's fine. I get that a lot."

Saya nodded, and Vana went back to her seat. Before Saya could call the next one, someone walked up, intriguing her.

"S-Serica. My name's... Serica," she murmured. She wore the standard uniform, but it clung in all the wrong places—revealing soft curves, legs, and a faint sensual aura she seemed completely unaware of. Her long black hair flowed like ink, her lashes thick, her eyes downcast.

Her voice was barely audible, but Saya's eyes instantly sharpened. She felt oddly familiar to Saya.

The kind of familiarity she feels from Akari...

"I control... blood," she added, lifting her hand. A tiny droplet floated from her palm, twisting into a blade mid-air, then vanishing.

Some of the students shivered.

"Saya, be careful around her... she's a weird one and obsessive." Akari's voice rang inside Saya's mind.

Saya blinked. "Obsessive?"

Serica looked at Saya and blushed deeply—then lowered her gaze again, fiddling with her fingers nervously.

"Eh..."

Serica raised her hand shyly. "M-Miss Saya... do you... sleep here at school?"

"Who knows."

"C-Can I sit next to you... during lunch?"

Saya tilted her head in confusion. "Sure, why not."

Serica blushed so hard her ears turned red. She nodded and went back to her seat.

Next came a short boy with bandages on his arms.

"Yo! I'm Kio, the fastest guy in the class."

"I'm Saya, the strongest entity in the universe. ^^"

Akari and a few students turned away while struggling to contain their laughter.

"Seriously?!" Kio asked, and Saya nodded.

"Niceeee!!!" Both of them did a high-five. A few seconds later, they continued with the presentation.

Kio disappeared in a flash—reappearing in the back of the room with his tongue out.

Saya smiled softly. "Cool. Let's see how fast you run with both legs broken."

Kio quickly went back to his seat.

Just as the best student was about to come, the bell rang.

"Hell yeah!!!"

"Yess!!!" Some of the students in the back seats celebrated, especially those that have funny or weak abilities.

Just as everyone was about to stand up, Saya clasped her hands together. "Yeah, no. I dismiss you, not the bell." She said, clearly enjoying their suffering.

"B-But it's lunch time," a student muttered.

"Aww, really? So what?" Saya's expression darkened.

Kio stood up with a grin on his face. "No offence, Sensei, but you can't stop me."

"Oh?" Saya smiled in a weird, creepy way. Kio vanished as he ran towards the door. The students sighed.

Lucky him.

Just as he was about to touch the door handle, a sense of danger crept up behind him. He tilted his head backward, and Saya appeared with her foot hitting the door, blasting it apart.

"Like I said, only I can dismiss you." A suppressive aura spread throughout the entire classroom, shocking the students.
