Chapter 181 - Chapter 181

Noah insisted on celebrating, but Lys was in no state to cook, Noah was not very mobile, and Senna couldn't cook at all. Noah decided to take a day off to book a restaurant, planning to close the shop tomorrow to avoid the chaos of wizards rushing through every store for back-to-school shopping and enjoy a meal.

Senna wasn't comfortable leaving the dazed Lys with Noah, so she pushed Noah out to book the restaurant. In reality, they could have just sent an order with an owl, but the Black family didn't own one.

Lys sat at the shop entrance, watching the little wizards outside running around, waving toy wands and casting stars and small fireworks.

She glanced sideways at her wand and instinctively used a summoning spell. A lily appeared at the tip of her wand.

Lys could clearly sense the path and method of that magic flow, like a little mouse running from her arm into the wand, and then a magical reaction projected into the space before her, resulting in a lily.

Lys instinctively continued summoning, chamomile, orchids, roses, osmanthus. The flowers in front of her emitted scents she had never smelled before, with colors and magical fluctuations, piling up in front of her.

Returning to the shop, Senna couldn't stand the strong mixed fragrance and sneezed loudly twice.

When Lys waved her wand over her head, a large section of the floor disappeared along with the flowers, but when she lowered her wand, the floor returned to its original state.

Then Lys continued to stare blankly at her wand and the outside, lost in thought.

The next day, Noah had Gaben on his lap, holding the absent-minded Lys by the left hand, being pushed by his wife to the restaurant.

If it weren't for Lys responding normally, albeit a bit slow, Noah almost didn't dare to take her out. He feared she might get lost in the crowd.

Noah wore a formal shirt, while Senna and Lys wore cloaks over their dresses.

Sitting in the spacious restaurant, Lys looked up but was prompted by Noah to look at the menu. She looked up again, sensing something was off, but her muddled mind couldn't pinpoint what.

"Go home!" At Lys's sudden words, Noah frowned, "What's wrong, are you uncomfortable?"

"Go home! Mom! Take Dad home! Now!" Lys's eyes widened, and in the dazzling world, she sensed a magical fluctuation, a counter-Apparition!

Senna didn't hesitate, grabbing Noah's hand and reaching for Lys, but it was too late. A violent explosion occurred on the restaurant's outer wall, and the debris and impact separated Lys and Senna's joined hands.

Lys shouted, "Go quickly!" Before the Apparition block fully formed, she sensed dozens of mixed aura dark wizards arriving at Diagon Alley.

Senna took a glance at Lys, who was alert and raising her wand, and without leaving a word, Apparated. Senna and Noah appeared on a distant hillside, the deviation in their destination rare for Senna, indicating the extent of the blocking array's impact.

A breath later, they would have been trapped.

Noah, pale, clutched Senna's hand, "Lys, will she be alright?"

"I saw her on guard. She should be fine. Your daughter is amazing, you know? She was fighting in Knockturn Alley back in her third year. Don't worry, she'll be okay." Senna comforted Noah, not mentioning that Lys had been fighting under her watch as early as her second year.

Mainly, Senna didn't know what was happening, just relying on her instinct to protect Noah and her trust in Lys's intuition to prepare for Apparition.

Back there, Lys also wanted to grab her mom's outstretched hand, but it was too late. She waved her wand to delay the formation of the array in that corner.

The massive magic surge hit, causing Lys to catch her breath, clutching her wand and leaning against the broken wall.

She glanced through the gap at the wizards with mixed auras, most wearing uniform black robes and silver masks, their colors too vivid for Lys to see clearly.

Upon landing, they began firing explosion curses, poison mist, and dark magic everywhere, the firelight and spell beams bursting in every corner, smoke and dust roaring.

Rubbing her eyes, Lys listened to a wild laugh approaching from behind the wall, gripping her wand.

She had just decided to practice fighting before the holidays, and now, ready or not, she had to fight.

But the footsteps stopped just before stepping in, "Oh, an Auror's brat, let me see, Crucio! Haha."

Lys heard the curse, and after a child's scream, she tightened her grip on her wand.

One of the three Unforgivable Curses, the Cruciatus Curse, its effect is literal, extreme pain. Three centuries ago, it was often used for torture and interrogation. Current wizarding law states that using an Unforgivable Curse results in imprisonment in Azkaban.

Using it on a child, is he insane?!

The opponent seemed bored or had more important matters, leaving the twitching child behind.

Lys looked around; the street was in chaos, the battle intense, glaring spell attacks and protective explosions in every corner. With Apparition blocked, many people huddled in corners, trembling, while Aurors on routine patrols struggled to organize evacuations.

Seeing no one paying attention to this corner, Lys reached the child's side, casting a dozen soothing spells on him, dragging him by the collar into a nearby intact bookstore.

After tossing the child to a cowering clerk, Lys finally felt a bit clearer.

The magical impact from the chaos's onset had left Lys with a breath stuck in her chest, leaning against the wall, soothing her magic.

Now she just needed to protect herself. Her mom and dad had Apparated, and Dad had grabbed... Gaben?

No, in the end, Dad wanted to grab her, and Gaben was left behind!

Crawling back through the gap into the restaurant, Lys softly chanted "Gaben's collar, come" several times to no avail, frustrated that she had made the collar so complex that the Summoning Charm was ineffective.

Struggling to sense the tracking charm on Gaben's collar in the dazzling world, she finally detected Gaben before her vision blurred.

As she moved towards the center of the restaurant, she heard a distant male voice say, "Hey Bella, look, there's a big fat snake. My God, do you think the adults will like it?"

Lys gritted her teeth, that man's eyesight was damn good, spotting Gaben's intricate patterns in the rubble.

She had no choice but to step out, but her recent slow reactions left her unable to speak before the man attacked. Lys instinctively deflected them, the spells as clear as fireflies in the night, leaving no chance of missing.

While defending, Lys attempted to counterattack. After releasing several dark spells, the woman called Bella asked, "You're a dark wizard? From which family?"

Lys countered the spells while glancing at the woman standing with her arms crossed, tall, beautiful, with tightly curled black hair. This was Bellatrix Lestrange, the elite Death Eater featured in newspaper photos, but before taking her married name, she was a Black, a Starrys Black.

Lys's slow response irritated her opponent, who became more aggressive, the spell exchanges blowing Lys's skirt.

"I'm from Slytherin House, here's my report card," Lys forced her brain to work, showing her all-O grades report card, which bore the Slytherin crest.

"Slughorn, that bald old man, alright Rodolphus, a fifth-year kid, and you can't beat her, you're useless!" She sneered at the man beside her, "The Prewett brothers are still waiting for us. You'd better be more useful."

"And you, kid, don't just stand there like an idiot, come and help! Everyone should contribute to the Dark Lord's great cause!" Bellatrix waved her wand threateningly at Lys, who was holding the big fat snake.
