EMMA
Everywhere was so dark that I could hardly see anything. And to make matter word this darkness held me.
Not the kind that frightens or chokes but a thick, velvety stillness, like being wrapped in a midnight cloud. I felt weightless, floating between the sharp throb of pain and the strange warmth that pulsed beneath my skin.
Just then Something shimmered in the void ahead. A soft silver glow… familiar now. It blinked like a heartbeat, then flared wide—becoming a shape.
My mouth was left ajar at the magical things happening in front of me and a few seconds later it finally firmed a shape.
A wolf.
She stood in the space before me, her fur white as frost, eyes burning bright as blue fire.
Her presence didn't scare me; it reached into the cold corners of my soul and settled there like she had always belonged. The sense of familiarity and connection was there.
"You're… me," I whispered, though my lips didn't move.
