AMAYA'S POV
I screamed when she dashed toward me but stopped to laugh, making confusion fill me. Why was she laughing? Wasn't she here to kill me or to capture me to take whatever bounty was on me. None of what she was doing made any sense and I was losing it. This was not a joke.
"What's funny?" Adeline asked, as if reading my mind.
Minnie, the woman stopped laughing and started to play with a lock of her curly hair. She rolled her hair between her fingers while staring at me with a smirk now painted on her lips.
"I wouldn't dare touch a hair on Maxim Novik's woman," she said.
My tense body calmed for a bit. She knew Maxim and was aware of what he could do?
"The last thing I want is to have my people wiped off the face of the earth or go into extinction because of greed." She said with a smile.
