The wafting scent of freshly baked muffins, along with egg toast, filled the room with its significant aroma. However, Jenny was completely unaware of that; she was still slumbering—or that's what Ella thought until—
"James... James…" She kept mumbling his name. Ella placed the tray of food on the side table swiftly and approached her immediately, taking long strides.
"Miss... Miss…" She kept shaking her shoulder, her grip gentle yet firm. After moments of constant effort, Jenny finally opened her eyes. She was completely drenched in sweat, with her chest heaving for breath.
"You had a nightmare, I guess," Ella uttered in an apprehensive tone, wiping away the sweat from her glistening face and neck. She had a nightmare where she saw James distancing himself from her; she was calling his name desperately, afraid of losing him for eternity. Coming back to the present, she suddenly darted her eyes to Ella; there was pure animosity in them.
