Raven screeched the car into the parking lot behind the café like she was late for a Formula One race. The tires gave a rebellious squeal as they skidded slightly on the gravel, sending a flock of startled pigeons flying.
Raven yanked the handbrake, her knuckles white on the steering wheel.
"We're back," she announced triumphantly, exhaling sharply. "And right on time."
Elisa turned to look at her; pale and shell shocked. Fear and shock all over her face. Her hand, gripping the seat belt like her life depended on it.
Cael grunted in protest from the back seat, his hand bracing against the window.
"Why on earth were you driving like the hounds of hell are on your ass? I am pretty sure you broke almost all the traffic laws. Remind me never to piss you off when you're driving," he muttered.
Raven didn't even look back, just rolled her eyes. "I wasn't even driving at my regular speed because i was concerned about Elisa. Stop whining."
