Chapter 16 - Reset

The moment Kaiya touched the Lux Core, everything stopped.

No—everything froze.

Time unraveled in silence, as if the universe were holding its breath. The room faded to white, and she found herself standing alone in a space with no floor, no sky, no direction. Just… echoes.

Echoes of every version of herself.

The shy Kaiya. The ruthless one. The one who let Dylan live. The one who never opened the book. A thousand lives, a thousand outcomes—all watching her.

And in the center: her choice.

> Erase Lux and restore the true timeline?

Or retain the new world—with Dylan, with control, but without chaos?

She thought of everything.

The real Liam, bleeding but loyal.

Adrien, broken but brave.

Nova, fierce and free.

The high school memories—the laughter, the heartbreak, the mystery.

And Dylan… the friend who became the system's prisoner.

"I'm done letting time choose for me," she whispered.

Then louder—

"I choose the truth."

She reached out…

…and pushed Reset.

---

BOOM.

Light exploded outward, washing the world in waves of silver and gold. The timelines collapsed inward, like dominoes folding back into one path. The corrupted clones shattered into dust. The Lux Core split open—and Dylan, smiling one last time, dissolved into the light.

A New Present — Timeless High, September 1st

Birds chirped. Students laughed. Everything was… normal.

Kaiya stood in front of her locker. Same hallway. Same blue sneakers.

No gold glitches. No glowing eyes. No Rift.

Liam rushed up beside her, breathless. "Hey! I thought you were skipping again."

She blinked. "You… remember?"

He grinned. "Bits and pieces. It's like a dream I can't forget."

Adrien passed by with Nova, holding a weird-looking lunchbox and smirking. "We still on for time club after school?"

Kaiya smiled. "You know it."

She looked down at her wrist. Her chrono-watch was gone. In its place—a small charm shaped like a broken gear.

A reminder.

Time was hers now. Not perfect. Not rewritten.

But real.

And in a world full of paradoxes…

She finally belonged.
