Chapter 324: Ino's Wishful Thinking
The Shinigami proposed an additional requirement: to lay a living foundation.
It needed eighty-one living piles to build Its "house." It didn't need young boys and girls, but strong living piles, piles that carried emotions such as malice, hatred, and resentment. The more of these negative emotions, the better.
Ino smiled. The world she was in now was a crazy world. Good people might be hard to find, but bad people were everywhere; you could have as many as you wanted.
This was a collection quest; it didn't seem difficult.
The Shinigami, enduring the high latency, transmitted another piece of information to her.
Her brow slowly furrowed. She knew things wouldn't be that simple. She would have to find a few unlucky sods to sacrifice and see how it went.
Ino didn't go directly back to the inn to rest. Instead, she found a place to summon her personal summoning beast, Kubikiri, returned to her room to partially hydrate and wash off the bloodstains, and only then did she return to the inn.
Hinata was a ninja, after all; killing was inevitable. It wasn't a big deal for Ino to return after killing a few people.
However, she had used the excuse of going to the restroom this time... The smell of blood on her could easily lead to some unnecessary associations. Was that good? That was not good at all!
Returning to the inn, Hinata had already finished her bath and had even prepared a full basin of hot water for her. Towels and everything were ready... Ino forced a smile, though she felt a little frustrated inside.
Hinata looked at her strange expression. I had my pants halfway off, and you tell me you're going to the restroom? And you still say there's nothing wrong? It must be kidney deficiency! You really need to drink all sorts of kidney-replenishing soups.
She had heard from Miss Ari that Mr. Kakashi had a severe kidney deficiency. Although Hinata didn't quite understand the meaning, according to what many adults said, she thought it was because Kakashi had pushed himself too hard when he was young and had damaged his body.
Kakashi was a genius, and Ino was also a genius.
Kakashi was lazy every day, and Ino was also lazy.
Kakashi had a kidney deficiency, so Ino must also have a kidney deficiency!
While a certain someone was fast asleep, Hinata got up to help Ino wash her clothes. She smelled a faint scent of blood on the clothes. She shook her little head, counted the days, and sighed secretly. It shouldn't be these few days. See, so irregular, the problem is very serious!
The battle between Ino and Kazuma ended quickly, but it still threw a huge stone into the calm of the capital.
The Daimyo certainly had more subordinates than just Kazuma's group, but Ino's ruthlessness had deterred the other hired ninjas. We're just earning some money; we don't want to fight to the death with Konoha ninjas.
Kazuma's skills were top-notch among this group. Now that he was dead, to the many ninjas hired by the Daimyo, Konoha's hidden strength was simply too terrifying.
The Daimyo quickly found out about the Konoha ninjas who had recently appeared in the capital. There was no need to hide their itinerary, and Ino's side had no intention of hiding it.
The next day, the duo looking for the Daimyo's wife's cat "coincidentally" met the Daimyo.
Ino timely suggested that the Daimyo might be under the influence of genjutsu and that she was willing to dispel it for him.
Dispelling Kotoamatsukami was not difficult. Having absorbed so much of Shisui's ocular power, it could be said that no one in the world now understood Kotoamatsukami better than she did!
The two did not make physical contact. Ino, in front of everyone, drew a guiding sealing formation on the ground. The Daimyo placed his hand on it, and the Kotoamatsukami ocular power in his body was drawn out and then crushed by the formation.
Kotoamatsukami was dispelled.
The Daimyo was a deep schemer. He didn't say a word about Danzo controlling him. Killing Danzo now would do him no good. Keeping Danzo around, he might be able to deal a heavy blow to Konoha someday.
He didn't say it, and Ino also pretended not to know. She also wanted to keep Danzo around to take the blame for a couple more things.
After the genjutsu was dispelled, the Daimyo put on an expression of sudden realization, immediately blaming all his recent actions on the genjutsu, saying that it was not his own intention. He hoped that Konoha would strictly investigate the despicable ninja who controlled him with genjutsu, and not let this damage the friendly and harmonious relationship between the Land of Fire and Konoha Village.
Ino, as a Jounin, could represent Konoha to a limited extent at this time. The two sides probed each other a few times, then pinned the blame on Kazuma. It was this guy who controlled the Daimyo with genjutsu! He's too evil, the Konoha ninja did a good job killing him!
Both sides were overjoyed, and the matter was thus smoothly resolved.
Ino returned to the village with dozens of carts of supplies.
The abundant supplies brought new vitality to the somewhat tense atmosphere in Konoha Village. Before, they were scraping by, but now things were good!
"Um, um, after you report the mission to Lord Hokage later, come to my house. I'll treat you to some water honey peaches," Hinata whispered to Ino as they parted at the village gate, then, blushing, she ran off.
Water honey peaches? Ino scratched her head. Is it what I think it is? I couldn't tell, Hinata's style is so bold! But that's right, it's not uncommon for people in this world to get married at fourteen or fifteen. In comparison, I'm still too conservative, my thinking isn't liberated enough!
Although she really liked water honey peaches, she had to put public duty before private affairs. As a Jounin, she needed to report the mission process.
An hour later, Jiraiya, Utatane Koharu, Mitokado Homura, Shimura Danzo, and Shikaku all came to listen to Ino's mission report.
This was an S-rank mission. As the head of the Jounin Squad, Kakashi was taking notes on the side.
Ino pushed all the blame onto Kazuma's group. The Daimyo's side also said the same thing: it was Kazuma who used genjutsu to control the Daimyo and then became hostile to Konoha Village. Now that the Daimyo was sober, the two sides were good friends again.
Danzo secretly breathed a sigh of relief. The matter of him controlling the Daimyo had not been exposed. Ino's investigation result was a complete surprise to him. After taking the blame for so many years, someone was now taking the blame for him. For a moment, the old man felt a bit unaccustomed.
Jiraiya also knew a little about Kazuma; he was a staunch anti-Hokage figure. Whoever was Hokage, he would be hostile to them.
A bona fide class enemy. It was no problem for Ino to kill him.
Ino was very familiar with the Hyuga household. She didn't use the main gate but the small one.
Like a thief, she slipped into Hinata's room.
Before pushing the door open, she controlled her expression.
Smile? Not appropriate.
A straight face? That doesn't seem right either.
Act as if nothing is wrong? Wouldn't that be too hurtful?
In the end, with three parts anticipation, three parts hesitation, three parts pleasant surprise, and ninety-one parts elation, she pushed the door open with light steps and walked in.
Hinata wasn't in the room but in the kitchen.
Hearing a sound in the room, she quickly used her Byakugan to observe.
Seeing that it was Ino's chakra, she said, "You're here. I'm almost done. You can eat them after they're washed."
Ino sat upright, her palms sweaty.
This is too fast, I'm not ready yet!
Will I need to ask Orochimaru for some baby-making techniques in the future? If I have a child, what should I name her? Himawari Yamanaka? Heaven is my witness, I have no intention of cuckolding the Seventh Hokage! How did things turn out this way?
