Kingsley spent the next few hours thinking about Jasmine. The accusations and the fact that there might be some ice between them now.
He couldn't defend himself earlier. How could he when he was guilty??
The last thing he wanted to do was to lie to Jasmine. She would know about Vanessa's presence even if he tried to hide it.
She would find out sooner or later so there was no point hiding it from her. But he couldn't shake off the chilly look Jasmine gave him before she left for work.
He couldn't even tell her to stay at home to recuperate fully. The stubborn woman got ready and went over to Trevor's group to continue her work.
Kingsley was at his office too, behind his massive table but his thoughts were slipping out. He seemed to have zoned out of reality. His situation perched on his head.
'I thought you'd be different.'
Jasmine's words echoed in his head. Those words held deeper meaning which he could easily decipher. Hurt swirled in her eyes as well as disappointment.
