With the help of nurses, Mila was escorted down from the rooftop and back inside the hospital. Some of the patients who heard about the commotion gathered around the hallway, their eyes on Mila.
"Shouldn't she be in a mental hospital and not here with all of us?" one of the patients relaxing on his crutches asked.
"I agree, because what if one day she becomes very violent and decides to harm us?" another girl in a wheelchair asked.
Their whisperings, which they thought were hushed, reached Mila's ears, but she didn't make an expression. Her tears had already dried, and her eyes returned to the blank stare they had earlier. She couldn't even walk with her own strength; Mila relied on the nurses to drag her forward. A clear proof that she had given up.
"She even wanted to kill an innocent baby with her. I think she's lost her mind," one woman from the crowd spat, her eyes seriously judging Mila.
