"Making them lose their company completely," Nikolai said with a slow, wicked smirk, his voice dripping with a dark promise that sent a shiver down my spine.
I leaned back a little, crossing my arms over my chest, still feeling the lingering warmth of his hands on my body, the faint pull between my thighs from earlier. But I refused to show him the effect he had on me. Not yet.
"Sounds ruthless," I said, tilting my head, studying him. "Even for you."
He chuckled low, deep in his chest, the sound vibrating through the air and brushing over my skin like a forbidden caress.
His dark eyes locked onto mine, burning with a feral gleam. "You think that's ruthless, little vixen?" he murmured, voice like velvet wrapped around a blade. "You haven't seen anything yet."
I felt my breath hitch, heat curling in my belly.
Still, I pushed, just because I could. Just because I loved the way he looked at me when I did.
