Chapter 50 - It's Time To Leave

With speeds that even enhanced eyes can see, Deadshot too stood no chance once his location was found.

After dealing with Deadshot, Barry runs back to the SkyPoint building to free the hostages.

Not even a minute has gone by, and Barry is back on top of the SkyPoint building. He sees that the hostages look a little confused, and he understands their predicament.

Just a minute ago, their kidnapper was about to shoot and kill them, but then he suddenly disappeared in a flash of lightning.

Barry runs up to them, unties them, releasing them from their shackles before running them back to the ground.

All this happens within seconds, and when the hostages realize that they are free to leave, they sigh in relief, some cry in happiness, while a few are still a little confused by everything.

But once all of them get enough time to process everything, they realize what happened. The talk of the town, the superhero that they call the Flash, saved them, and they couldn't be any more grateful.

Barry runs back up the building and stops, which he rarely does nowadays.

Having super speed is really addictive, so he does most of his things are super speed. The only time he is not using it is when he is around people.

Sometimes it's okay to slow down and see the world move while he stands still. Looking down at the city, he sees it moving again, which he rarely sees as he is always running faster.

The reason he is waiting here is because he knows someone will be here to visit him.

After a few minutes, his wait is finally over.

"Good work," Barry hears the deep, raspy voice behind him. Barry turns around and sees Batman standing there, menacingly.

"Like, do you have foam underneath your shoes? How do you move without making a sound?" Barry asks, as he finally realizes why Batman could always sneak up behind everyone. The dude doesn't make a sound. Even his enhanced hearing could pick him up.

"Hmmm," Batman just hums. He doesn't answer, as if answering it will bring an end to the world.

Seeing that Batman doesn't want to answer his question, he decides to move on to the next.

"How did you find out Deadshot was here?" Barry asks.

"I found the gun's design. The gun needs to generate a ton of energy to shoot. I just had most of my satellites pointed at Central City to search for any massive heat signatures," Batman explains.

"That... sounds about right. Also, Deadshot is locked inside CCPD, so I don't think you can get your hands on him," Barry says.

"I know," Batman answers.

"Of course, you know. Okay, so I assume you are just going to leave, just like that?" Barry questions.

"Just like your city needs you, Gotham needs me," Batman answers.

"Well, thanks for everything," Barry says.

Batman just stares, doesn't speak, and turns away, ready to leave.

"Also, if you need help. Just hit me up. You saw... even with all my speed, I still need help. Everybody can use a helping hand, so... you know the gist," Barry says.

Batman stops for a second.

"That Dr. Wells, be careful around him," Batman says.

Barry is surprised by this warning, but by now, he doesn't think it's out of the ordinary for Batman to pick up a few things.

"I know," Barry says.

Batman turns around and meets Barry's eyes. He realizes that Barry already knows that something is fishy with Dr. Wells, but since Barry seems to be acting ignorant around him, Batman decides not to butt in.

He then jumps off the building and disappears into the darkness.

"Well, that went well. And I think we are now friends, well, at least I think so..." Barry says to himself and, with a flash, disappears.

Barry runs back to S.T.A.R. Labs and stops before his team.

His sudden stop causes all the papers in the room to fly up in the air.

"Barry!" Caitlin exclaims, happily seeing him back safe and sound.

"What happened?" Cisco asks.

"Deadshot is behind bars now. No more psycho assassin running around the city," Barry says, smiling.

"Dude, that's awesome," Cisco says, hi-fiving Barry.

"So, Batman's plan worked," Cisco says.

"Looks like it did," Dr. Wells chimes in.

"What was the plan?" Cisco asks.

Barry then begins explaining what Batman's plan was.

"That's genius... But wait, how did he get into your headphones?" Cisco asks.

"I don't know, he must have hacked into it," Barry says, knowing that it's not something out of Batman's capabilities.

"Bullshit, no one can hack into my creation," Cisco says, but having no other explanation to how Batman got inside Barry's ears, he rushes to his computer and finds that Batman indeed hacked into his system.

"Looks like it all worked out, Mr. Allen," Dr. Wells says.

"Looks like it did," Barry says.

"But I still don't trust that man. He could have given us a heads-up about the plan before deciding to put your life at risk," Dr. Wells says.

"I agree with Dr. Wells. That guy gives me the creeps," Caitlin says.

"I understand your point, but he doesn't seem to trust people that easily as well," Barry says.

Dr. Wells just stares at Barry before giving him a smile and rolling away.
